okay.. a pink 9020/923 would work.. but a pink 932 would not be so hot. How much do you reckon an unlocked 932 is going to be.. not pleasant though

Is there a setting I can change so incoming calls doesn't start a '+1' at the start of the phone number? There is no more names showing when my phone rings, its all numbers with +1 at the start.![]()
No, the only way to get Caller ID working is to add all your contacts +1 to all your numbers, so in the end it will look like this; +14161234567
If the person calling is from north american (area code +1 lol) and he isn't from your contacts with a +1 already then it wont show up as a name I think......but that is just reference from using other sharp phones. I'm not sure about the 9020c since I don't have one......
And yea like the poster above me said......the only way to make names show up is to add the region code infront of the number which is +1 for NA =/
Contrary to popular belief I'm not really obsessed or in love with tofu as a food, sure its good and all but I'm not in love with it. Someone else typed this name for me when I was registering >_>
ps. For future reference just qoute me as Tofu instead of the whole name....sounds too cheesy LOL
I think I just get use to typing +1. Half the time when I call someone I have to enter their country code too (-_-").... lotza +81.... some +886 and some +61 or +62 or +44.

Everyone's on their own for hypersims. I'm out har har har har har~~~~
Meh, I don't bother with that. Have to dial 15 numbers to long distance call relatives in China and that is without the calling card's number XD
But for non-long distance numbers you should just get used to using the +1 =/
my 9020c works fine without the "+"...
I don't know why this is such a problem, when you save your contacts just add +1 in front of the number. Not only will that fix the caller ID problem, but if you ever travel outside the US and roam, you can still dial the number directly out of the phonebook without having to modify the number. I save all of my contacts in international format for those reasons, so instead of them being 02 1234 5678 they're +612 1234 5678.
And when you dial out you don't need the +1, just go from the area code and it will work.![]()
From my own testing, the way international Sharp phones work, if they receive a caller ID of say 555 234 5678, the name will be displayed both if the number is saved as 555 234 5678, or as +1 555 234 5678.
If the caller ID is transmitted as +1 555 234 5678, then the name will only be displayed if the number is saved like that; if it's saved as 555 234 5678 then the number won't display.
On Japanese firmware SoftBank Sharps it's different (tested on a 910SH) - they don't recognise the +1 555 234 5678 international format, so if you save a Japanese number as +81 90 1234 5678, the phone won't recognise it and won't display a name, forcing you to save it in local format (090 1234 5678). I don't know why Sharp changes it for Japan, but that's how it is.
I find you need to have both 1 and area code and area code then number, this has been on this on 904sh/705sh and up models. Annoying to have contacts on the phone twice, but it works...Originally Posted by Chillyman
its not like your phone is going to run out of space. This would really piss me off. Theres no reason for softbank to be so ***.
I'm personnally too lazy to add contacts on my phone, so I only have like 2 contacts since I always give my phone number out.
docomo has the same issue too
But with my friends sh905i, she did not have to do the +1 for her contacts. But with incoming SMS she gets random numbers instead :LOL:Originally Posted by aw614
