No, and/or yes, because his filenames work. Make sure your tags are in the correct encoding. They might be a pain to convert, you will want to try -- Unicode, GB2312, SJIS. (GB does have kana glyphs)

Enjoy trying to covert encoding of tags of mp3s

How do you change the format of the tags? I've never heard of that before. Since they are ID3 I'm going to assume it's in Unicode? Do you know of any good programs to such? I'm off to google to see what I can scrounge up.

If your using Windows Vista, you can change the ID3 tags by clicking the .mp3 file than change it from the bottom.

I know that, that's how I edited all of my tags in the first place. From what it sounds like fireshark is saying is that I need to encode the tags in a different format.

I've looked in the manual as well as tried google.ca and .cn. Since I don't know any chinese that didn't really help, but google translate made sites navigate able. Any rate, my question is where are you supposed to place java apps on the memory card? Do they need to be .jad or .jar? I can't seem to figure this out.

Edit: After some more searching I found this in the manual:
    • Java™ data cannot be saved on a memory card.
How am I supposed to add apps like PiClip then?

You should post items for sale in the BST section.

Try deleting the ID3V2 tag from the MP3 file. I've found Sharp phones will properly display ID3 tags if there's only a V1 tag in the file and not a V2 tag. (Use Winamp to remove the V2 tag for example)

I tested music files on the SX862 I had recently and all their ID3 tag information displayed properly as long as there wasn't any half-width katakana in it and there was only an ID3V1 tag. The SoftBank-derived Chinese market phones all appear to support both Japanese encodings (JIS, SJIS, EUC) and fonts completely, except for half-width katakana which garble completely in the music player and display as squares everywhere else in the phone.

If you want to add apps they have to be downloaded via WAP; you can't add them via memory card. To install PiClip you need to go to the author's website and download the JAD file directly. The PiClipID (dictionary built-in) version works fine that way.

    Mine shows up as E.
Thanks for clarifying. Hmm, I guess my T-Mobile service is wacky in my area. Mine displays the G only on the globe icon, so I'm guessing it's only connecting to GPRS. This is odd because I am able to connect to edge with my G1 no problem. I'm going to reverify my apn settings.

The sh9020c is the newer model...improved screen, camera, ect.
Just Google "Sharp sh9010c" and "Sharp sh9020c" and read the articles. They'll tell you everything.

    the SH9010C: 920SH the SH9020C:923SH

The Sh9010C screen is slightly smaller, slightly worse colours, bad camera. In my opnion you should get a Sh9020C because they are getting cheap these days, and you see more of them than the Sh9010C

Tried deleting ID3v2 tags and it helped a little bit. Now its no longer question marks, its all Chinese. Not sure what to make of that. So I have to download apps through WAP? What are the proper WAP settings for Rogers on this phone? I've gotten MMS working fine, but I can't seem to get Internet working.

thanks...how much is cheap?? cause a local store in richmond bc sells brand new for 880 still...cant justify paying that much for another toy and i think my wife would kill me if i did lol....btw if u were going to buy a slightly used one how much do u think is a fair price?
