Verizon Moto Q GPS Unlocking Thread

Since it has been almost a month since the Verizon Touch Pro GPS UNLOCKED! thread has been successful, thanks to lllBoredlll, I wanted to start this thread for the Motorola Q series. This project began on Christmas day by kbMan and myself with our new Q9n phones, which are great on WinMo 6.1 however still have locked GPS. There is a thread I started in the EverythingQ forum New Verizon GPS Fix which has some background information. We have obtained unlocker files which are designed for the HTC Touch, BlackJack2, MoDaCo.com and various other firmwares and hacks.

Any interested in joining in, please post here. I have some screenshots taken a couple of days ago.

We aim to code a hack which will enable GPS on all of the Q9c/m/n series.

I'm glad to see that there's still some interest in getting the Q9's GPS unlocked. I wish I had some coding experience to help.

I hope you guys can make some progress.
I know a lot about somethings and enough about most things, but not everything on everything.

This leads me to the prophecy of:

Feed a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man how to fish and he will eat for a lifetime.

Teach a man how to unlock GPS on a Verizon phone and he will not have to pay for GPS for a lifetime.

When we have everything figured out, there will be a guide written here, like we have done for the other challenges, like getting the USCC firmware onto the V9m.

    Thanks, kbMan

Willy, we got this stuff working on the Q9c now, with just Q9m remaining. Can you shed some light on why the Q9m appears to have GPS disabled when you enter SP mode and can't change GPS IP address?

We plan to try the gpsOne hack with QPST next

If you have a Q9m running the Q9c formware, will it work now since you hacked it for the Q9c already?
