a good dual sim phone?

whats a good dual sim phone. i heard the Chinese options are not that great. I am looking at Samsung D780. Is ok? Any other suggestions? I prefer something with triband and 900/1800/1900 for both sims since it will be primarily used in USA.

I use a CECT P168+ which is quad band (850, 900, 1800, 1900) dual SIM (both active) and I don't have any issues with using it as a phone and receiving SMS messages on it (and also using it to play MP3). I will sometimes put my Canadian SIM in the phone as SIM1 and put my American SIM in the phone as SIM2 and depending on where I am, I will make calls with whichever SIM is more cost advantageous... or I can put 2 US SIMs (from different companies) and make calls using the most cost advantageous SIM while I receive calls on both SIMs.

The only negative thing that I have to say about it is that there is very little support for it so if you have problems configuring things like MMS or WAP or browsing, you might be out of luck.

Another negative thing about it is that it just supports GPRS so even if you get data to work, it will be very slow when you compare it to a phone capable of EDGE or capable of 3G.

Go for the samsung, theyre really good. A little bulky, but atleast the UI is user friendly and easily configurable. The camera's good aswell!

I heard the samsung is only triband on the primary sim and only 900/1800 on the secondary! Is this true? Also on the D780 it says is triband whole phone

In terms of the camera, I don't take many pictures with the camera since in my opinion, it is not a good camera when you compare it with my N95-4 but it gets the job done (taking a quick snapshot) like the camera on my SonyEricsson w300i or the SonyEricsson w580 that I had access to (or my Palm Treo phones).

If you are referring to the picture quality of the photo album (viewing pictures on the device), I would say that it is very good.

I use my CECT P168+ mainly for the MP3 player and the dual active SIM capability. I also occasionally use it to watch some videos (although the quality is nowhere as good as it is on my Treo phones or my N95-4). For me, my CECT P168+ does what I want (MP3 player and dual active SIM phone).

I don't use the camera on it at all. I took one picture to make sure that it works and that was it. I did the same with my other phones that had cameras built in them (Treo & SonyEricsson w300i/w580). I have used the Nokia N95-4 camera more often but generally when I want to take a picture, I will use my real digital camera (12MP) as opposed to my Nokia N95-4 (5MP) or any of my other camera enabled phones (< 2MP). At most, since having my Nokia N95-4 for close to 1 year, I've maybe taken 6 pictures on it. With my other camera enabled phones, I've only taken a maximum of 2 pictures on it (generally only 1).

Samsung D780 is a good mobile phone and the dual facility works well. The style and looks of the Samsung D780 are wonderful.This handset sound is good too.
