nice phone. really comfy keypad, more solid than the c905(no no wobble/looseness)..the loudspeaker isn't too loud, but good enough, earpiece volume is good...camera lacks AF but still takes pretty good pics...the back is not slick, but a grippy plastic, but the front is fingerprint prone..overall, a good phone..very comfortable to hold in my hand whether texting or talking...i haven't gotten a chance to test it's battery life yet so we'll see how that it...i got it for my gf to replace her d900...overall a nice se...

Man, I was hoping that I could find a replacement for my W610 that has a great loudspeaker (or louder) and I thought that the G705 would be it.

I guess I'll try it out anyways as my old phone is on it's dying legs and is going to need to be replaced soon.

I'm wondering if anyone else has gotten the G705 yet... its the most capable SE phone for US 3g users for the price... very attractive also in my opinion.

Considering selling my N95 as the g705 was what I really wanted (But US version wasn't out yet).

You know, I just realized. My G705 (HK version, bought at Pacific Mall) didn't come with the 1GB M2 card. The guy said that it doesn't come with the 1GB M2 card anymore cus of something that Sony Ericsson did. Did anyone else notice this?

Was it not already in the phone?

Anytime I've bought an SE phone that is supposed to have a memory card included, it was already inside the phone instead of having it's own individual packaging.

Nope. The memory card wasn't there. Store clerk/guy said that they don't come with the 1GB M2 cards anymore. It's not a big deal, but that 1GB is really useful.

Anyone know if the 8GB M2 cards work on G705, and if they do, what's the cheapest place besides Canada Computers? Hope it doesn't lag. Also, 4GB M2 card for around $20 at DealExtreme. It's a no-name product.

I just got an 8gb m2 card from amazon.com for a little over $30usd. Not sure if the same would apply for canadian customers. I'm using it with my w610. If it works with this phone, I'm sure it'll work with the g705.

It sounds like GPS is not usable as a stand-alone feature with Google Maps. On my Blackberry I can fire up Google Maps or Blackberry Maps and the GPS functions like any handheld GPS device. Not so on the G705?
