What's this new rumor that the Tour will have a touchscreen a la BB Magnum?
That would be AMAZING! But I kinda doubt it...
Maybe my best friend who just got a job at RIM can shed some light on this...
that site is wrong...the tour will come in the same form as it is on that picture, a mix between bold and curve. the device that will have a touch screen and qwerty will be the magnum and bgr reported this pic.

no it wouldnt. putting a click screen on a phone that already has buttons is completely retarded.
the storm failed. and i say that never using one and im not talking about how it works. im saying that because rim has already gotten rid of it for the storm 2. so to put a click screen in this would be stupid. it has buttons. they need to leave it simple and just copy what paml devices were.

touchscreen with buttons.
it would be similar to the palm devices...the touchscreen (which will not be clickable) replaces the trackball for navigation...the keyboard is simply there for inputting like the pre. for me, it would be the best of both worlds, click on the app you want, while having a full qwerty bold/tour style keyboard.

so the touch pro failed since the touch pro 2 is coming? and it doesnt need to be a click screen. The reason for the click screen was for the keypad.

the magnum was originally leaked as having a click screen. not the way im saying
no because they are not getting rid of anything in the touch pro.
the GOT RID OF THE CLICK SCREEN.
They havent confirmed that theyre getting rid of the click screen for the storm 2. Rim has stated theyre still working with the technology. The early test units could have just had a regular screen in place. Havent really seen anything more on the storm 2. Not that I really care cause I wont buy one.

as far i heard its gone. they are trying to have some sort of haptic feeback but something new. but maybe im wrong.
I was at a Bell seminar yesterday and actually won a BB Tour in a draw. The RIM rep who brought it to the seminar let me play with his. There is no touch screen! It is very much like using a curve... the form factor is in between the curve and the worldphone... it is a very nice form factor and feels great in your hand. The performance of the unit is excellent... it's very responsive!
Unfortunately for me, I was unable to get him to switch the unit for a Telus branded device, so I'm going to wait until it is released on both networks and try to negotiate some kind of trade. They won't release the unit to me until it is made available on the Bell network... The RIM rep reported that it will be sometime in July!
I'm currently using the Storm, but I would switch to this unit in a heartbeat when I get the chance.

RIM has been quoted as saying that "SurePress" isn't going anywhere, so I suspect they're simply changing what SurePress is but keeping the name. It will likely be some sort of haptic feedback system.

some launches are literally done last minute. when i was working for telus. the ksr launch or some other phone i forget was done literally last minute.
let's hope it's a last minute launch, but also that the phone is flawless, with no problems and that's there's inventory to support the demand. does anyone know if there's anything else in telus's store's inventory that has shown up related to the phone...accessories??
