NO HSPA, NO WIFI, NO NA GSM bands and likely "locked" GPS! Really, for a work device why would I (Although I probably will) upgrade from a Curve or 8830? The OS on these two seems to be working fairly flawlessly and the GPS on my 8830 works great right out of the box! Seems like a lot of hype for???
Help me out people!

north american gsm is there. north american hspa isnt there. but euro bands are there.
gps why would it be locked? it wasnt locked on the curve or pearl? at least when i had them it wasnt locked.
Hmmmmm I don't know. Do a bit of a search on Curve GPS problems. Also lots are having problems with it on the 8830. I'm talking stand alone GPS, not Telus Navigator.

...p.s. does anyone know where this whole idea of the tour getting the touch screen come from? I thought that was the pluto or onyx or hopefully a scrapped idea.

yea i remember those threads but i think that was a bug more so than a lockdown issue
that doesn't seem like the same phone... Its like they were reading a few articles and mushed em into this "9030" blackberry... LOL! with all the actual demos of this phone still coming, i don't know where this would have come from!

Apparently the guy that writes for them was misinformed. All of the insiders on CB won't even acknowledge this fallacy including a tester for VZW.

Reason: typo
Magnum = GSM touch + full-qwerty keyboard device (think Bold with touchscreen)
From what Ive been told, people are misinformed of the Magnum. It is not going to have a touch screen. It will be like the Bold minus the trackball. Rim will be introducing a new method to navigate. From what Ive gathered it will basically be like a touchpad. Heard it works incredibly well.
anyways i played with my friends bold today and actually typed on it for like 10 mins. the keyboard isnt as bad as i thought. i still prefer the feedback of the curve 8900 buttons where i feel a strong click. but the buttons are pretty good. i dont think ill be complaining about the tour's keyboard unless the buttons are really small.
I love the Bold. Great phone in general with a great keyboard. The 8900 is very nide, but I found it a bit small. Only used to for a couple mins to setup someone on our exchange server, so not really the most educated opinion, I probably could get used to it. The Tour being in the middle however may be near perfection.

Could be wrong though.
the magnum will be the mix between the touchscreen and qwerty...there have devices demoed on a few sites featuring the trackpad which replaces the trackball.

Thanks for the pics. Didnt get all the info. Had a few drinks. But from what I recall, the magnum did not have a touchscreen. But I probably heard wrong. Damn codenames and numerical names that closely resemble each other.
