maybes its like the diamond all over again. soft launch which wasnt really soft just short stock. then bigger full stock launch on july 15
Honestly, I'm not sure. I edited my last post also. I am out of town and heading overseas tomorrow so I can't check everything as normal. I do know that in the RIM database, June 22nd is the date. But again, things change and the 15th could very well be the date. The 22nd may kick off corporate ordering, or something of the sort.
Again, I apologize if the 22nd doesn't pan out. What I post is usually correct and don't seek to get peoples hopes up for nothing. Time will tell I guess.

****NOTE THE PARAGRAPH ABOUT GOING ON SALE MID JULY****
RIM launches its first salvo at the enemy

More On This Story
Research In Motion Ltd. on Tuesday launched the first salvo of what promises to be many against rival mobile-handset makers in the coming months, releasing details on the Tour, a sleek combination of the successful Bold and Curve devices.
Analysts say the new device will help protect share from a host of new handsets from competitors and boost sales despite a still-cautious spending environment with consumers and businesses.
"I suspect this is going to be big seller," said Peter Misek, equity analyst at Toronto-based Canaccord Adams. Considering "the form factor [or body design], the speed, the processing and horse power, I think this is a multimillion unit-a-year seller," he said. "Its going to be adopted very quickly by the carriers and the consumer is going to embrace it."
The BlackBerry Tour 9630 boasts a similar chrome finish as the Bold and classic Qwerty keyboard found on most BlackBerries. Like its name implies, the Tour works across different networks, enabling roaming almost anywhere, RIM said. For users who travel frequently the new device eliminates the headache of having service interrupted because of incompatibility with a region's network technology.
Other features of the Tour include the highest resolution screen of any BlackBerry, greater internal flash memory and longer battery life, and its equipped with Global Positioning System and Bluetooth 2.0 capabilities.
Yet in a sign of RIM's growing attention toward capturing retail users, the Tour will also have better video and music features. Unlike the Bold, which is predominantly used by corporate or so-called enterprise users, the Tour "will appeal to both enterprise users and consumers," Mr. Misek said.
The Tour will go on sale in Canada in mid-July through Bell Canada and Telus Corp., going head-to-head with rivals like Apple Inc.'s iPhone 3G S and Google-powered HTC smartphones, which are also capable of surfing the Web, sending e-mails and downloading content and applications.
However, analysts says RIM is far from finished with the Tour. The smartphone market is expected to grow through this year even as the economic downturn cuts into overall global mobile-phone sales.
RIM accounts for 50% of all North American smartphone sales and commands almost 20% in Western Europe, the two fastest growing markets in the world. However, competition is quickly gathering pace.
A flurry of new launches from Apple, Nokia and Palm Inc. among others this spring has put pressure on the company to innovate and enhance its existing product line. Beginning with the Tour, RIM's plans to introduce an "unprecedented" lineup of smart-devices in the coming months as the technology firm battles for position, according to RBC Capital Markets analyst Mike Abramsky.
He says RIM plans to introduce no less than eight more handsets this year, including two "entry-level" models dubbed the Gemini and Aries and a touchscreen Storm redux, with all three aimed at the retail user.
RIM hopes the new models will sustain what appears to be solid earnings momentum. The company reports earnings for the three months ended May 30 tomorrow with expectations from analysts for another blockbuster quarter.
Investors have placed some confidence in RIM's ability to weather the competitive pressure and recession. The company's shares have more than doubled since hitting a 52-week low of $44 on the Toronto Stock Exchange in December. It closed Tuesday unchanged at $90.90.
Well, I can confirm that certain people within the marketing department do know an actual release date for the Tour (found this out last week), however thats all the info I could get as they were unwilling to tell me anything as they signed a "non-disclosure agreement"...
More things are also starting to showup in QSM so heres to hoping for a Monday launch!

If you're offer is $150 then you'll pay $499 and you'll have to extend your contract 3 years from now. If you wait until you have a year left in your contract you should get full promotional pricing ($249 on a 3 year). How far are you in? You could try your luck with L&R.
