Will the Tour have the new BBmessager?
I looked at the article (with the Onyx), but can't seem to find out if the Tour will also get it.
...Or actually for that matter, will it be upgradable to all BB devices, as in can I put it on my Pearl?

    Thx guys/girls
    Old Talk To Me $25 /100daymin. / unlimited incoming calls / 100 Ldm / free unlim ev/week @6 / free CID VM10 / free 100 text / $15 ul data / $250 off Pearl => $25 + 15 +tax + SAF = $53 or so.

same here. Phone prices are far too high. Obviously this is a way to get people to sign long term contracts. no way im gonna be buying a tour at full price. Even price at a 3 yr is up there. Cant wait to see Bells pricing which will be $100 less. Frackin telus.

Indeed. In all honesty the Tour isnt some huge powerhouse of a phone. Theres no reason for this high price. Hopefully telus listens and makes it more reasonable. But I doubt it. I think we'll see better 3 year pricing. Maybe a promotion of an additional $100 off. But the mtm price will probably stay the same, and it will be above Bell's pricing Im sure.

i know some people may come to rims defense but NO rim smartphone is a powerhouse.

out of all the big smartphone companies rim probably makes the least powerful smartphone device. so they have absolutely no excuse for charging the ridiculous price.

they are just overcharging a la jordan sneakers and nike products.

i remember an interview rim said they were going to be more price friendly to be more competitive. i guess they didnt mean right away

Im going to agree with this. But so are everyone else. Cell phone prices really need to drop. Im getting sick of spending so much on damn cell phones. I really need to settle on one and keep it for at least a year.

I like Telus and all, great service and support but to be honest, Robbers has the 2 android phones for $150, and the iphone for $200, and Bell is getting the Pre for $200 (thought I saw this price on palms site but cant seem to find it now) Telus really needs to rethink the price of this blackberry. And i agree with u Riley that BB's are definitely not powerful compared to other smart phones.

In comparison to what other devices? The Iphone 3G doesn't stand up to the Bold with processing speed. Heck the brand new 3G S still doesn't. Furthermore, Iphones can't even run programs in the background.
I will admit that there are other devices out there that are competitive with BB's, so may be even better. But they're few and far between when you look at what BlackBerry's offer. Especially in the corporate/enterprise market.
BB's have definitely lacked in the memory department, and all new devices will have at least 256 for apps. Albeit still a little low. But to portray BlackBerry's as a non-powerhouse is incorrect in my estimation. They offer the best security/encryption of any device around, compatibility with many different exchange servers, have 2nd to none LCD screens. Great keyboards. IMHO, the best push on any mobile device. Great keyboards. They're definitely a contender.

    ur talking about usability.

im talking about whats under the hood.

and i used to use the same argument for the iphone. but the reality is the iphone can run multiple apps. it just cant run multiple 3rd party apps.

its kind of funny though when u think of it. the 2 most popular phones blackberries and iphones are notorious for overcharging, minor updates per berry so u constantly have to switch. they both just added 3.2 mp cameras within the last 365 days while others are at 5mp phones and going up to 8mp phones

i know im gonna hear the berry is a company phone excuse so save it. i remember bgr's review on the bold he tore the cheap feel apart in the review but anyway screens every company has a phone with a great screen now so no leader there. actually samsung has started the amoled revolution so they leading there.

once nvidia tegra powered devices come im really curious to see the pricing. nevertheless under the hood they are not giving anything revolutionary we still waiting for a palm style touchscreen.

this device brings nothing that others havent brought before fact is the bold with its 1gb internal memory is still their leader. that launched with the cracked up price of 400$ on a 3 year but even that is cheaper now. why is this more expensive? this device is not superior in any single way.

so definitely a ripoff and overcharging. im sorry even the ps3 is 400 total these phones need to get off their cracked prices.
