Yeah I think youre right. Alberta & BC have no Corp Stores... It's too bad I can't imagine having to deal with some of the dealers they have. All this BS about you did not buy your phone here so we can't help you. Gotta love corp stores. I can buy a phone in Toronto and return it in Montreal or even Halifax or Saskatoon.

Only problem is if they buy a PDA/BB/Air Card over the phone they can't return it or exchange it. Either way, most dealers in Alberta and BC don't do exchanges or are super fussy. The aftermath service is usually not good from what I hear. Either way I read about the Tour launch date for Thursday and i'm mucho excited!! The price wil not be 700$ as stated in previous thread. If it is I will be damned!!!!
will the phone be made in mexico or in canada? When the storm came out, it was made in mexico and those were the ones with issues such as dust under screen etc. The ones made in Canada later on were much better build quality. Anyone know where the tour will be made?

I want to get the same from them but right now they're only offering me $150 off w/ a 3 year renewal. I have 16 months left on my contract at about $50/month

I just called and they gave it to me without hesitation. I was 13 months in a 3 year contract and I just told them how crappy my 8330 is (it really is - ridiculous lag, multiple battery pulls a day, P/$/enter keys not working, trackball ring broke way too easily, it "lost" my e-mail account and had to be reset by RIM, deleted my calendar appointments).

It varies, but yeah a lot of them do charge more to make up for lost commissions they would be getting on a contract. Future Shop/Best Buy don't pull that crap though. If you are buying it outright I would go there because they usually have competitive pricing, and they have good return policies.

RIM has outsourced some manufacturing of phones to Mexico and I have seen 8130's, 8830's, 8330's, 8230's and 9530's made in both countries. It's more a question of software.
