I called Future Shop at South Edmonton Common and apparently they have some Tours or will have some within a day but they are not allowed to sell them until the 15th. Also, they aren't going to allow no contract purchases for the first couple weeks or so due to limited supply. WTF
Of course, they have Bell Tours ready to go for tomorrow.

i got a buddy who work there... hmm...
Yeah somehow I think there was a bit of a minunserstanding here. Or the rep was just talking out of his arse.
They're being instructed to hold onto the phones for new activations? Wtf? They're selling a product either way .. I'd escalate to a manager if you're in the store wanting to buy a product and they won't give it to you. But this is coming from their Toronto stores, I'm not sure why they'd refuse to sell them ??

Anybody want to hook me up?
What I mean is that I very much doubt they have any units in stock. Why would a dealer get stock before the official launch and before TELUS flagship stores got them?

They did that with the launch of the Storm because stock was so limited. They got away with it, but there was a lot of complaining and confusion about it. I'd be surprised if TELUS would want to go through that again. I would hope and assume that they coordinated better with RIM this time around so they have sufficient stock for the launch.
That's the same issue happened with the storm when it came out, NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO HOLD PHONES BACK. I got a upgrade done first day it came out. Private dealers probably can do it, because they're fools, but Future Shop, BEST BUY, and corp. telus stores have to sell the phones, whether the phone is being bought straight out or full price. Don't believe the BS that is running around. People are saying that so that they can sell the phones on a 3 year term, to make their commission. I can appreicate that they want to make money, no one goes into work for free, but dont piss off the clients who have been with you forever. You will end up getting more units in to sell.
dont worry guys, if someone says that to you when you go into a store, just call client care infront of them off your cell while dealing with them and they'll straighten them out.

LOL! Exciting. I have been in a few situations like that ... I agree it shouldn't be limited ... unless the store has like 3.. which I doubt
I`m surprised they serve this file up externally. You`d think it would be a file that is needed by the server-side web app but would be blocked from being served externally.

i think when someone left on friday they made a mistake because it didnt appear to me until around 4 or 5 their time. i work in a web department running promotions that dont have nearly the impact that telus does but they truly suck at protecting this info better. in some places its fool proof but in other places they fail to our benefit.
