    SL55 and T-Mobile problems?

I am not sure if I have just stumbled into a really irreputable T-mobile dealer but he claimed they had the units and there was a problem with the T-mobile sim card working in the units so he sent his shipment back. Any news with this? He claimed when he inserted a voicestream card it worked. Something about the high speed data function and a firmware problem.

T Mobile doesn't even carry the SL55. The North American Version would be the SL56 and it's not even out yet... the guy is a liar.

SL55, will it work on T-Mobile network?

I am really considering getting one from a hong king location. I read the US version will be I think 850 instead of 800. I think the SL55 would be the way to go since it may be used in S. America also,, OPINIONS?

The SL%% works fine with a T-Mobile SIM. Not a problem at all.

Same here. No problem at all on T-mobile in the USA. Everything works! The only issue I am having is that with a newer SIM card you cannot remove the operator logo.

I know so many people with various fones on T-Mobile that have complained about the same thing... I have gotten so used to being able to not see an operator logo if I had to see one it would probably annoy the hell out of me lol

I am w/ T-Mobile as well. I have heard of the problems w/ the SIM card. It seems that if you have an old Voicestream or even older Omnipoint card the SL55 won't work. I was at a store here in NYC when I bought my SL55. Some poor chap was upset about the problem & the tech guy from the store informed him about the problem. All you need to do is go to a T-Mobile location & has your info switched to a new card for $20.00 (I think).

How do you like the sl-55. I just found out the travel area in s. america I want to use the phone in hwne i travel is gsm 1800. So the euro model is the best option for me I think at this time, although i see evidence of gsm 850 for the future there. But by the time this happens siemens will probably have an updated model of the sl-55!
