My wife and I recently upgrade to the Galaxy S phones via the BOGO sale and I can verify that both phones did have the Android 2.2 Froyo update installed out of the box. If anyone has a question about the phone that you can't find an answer for I will do my best to help.

So I finally got into the store for a couple minutes to look at the thing. Of course the only problem was the second I touched the phone, no network connection available. Sales girl went through the settings, looked ok (don't know your numbers, but I watched what she was going through, everything looked ok/on/etc.). I looked at it some more while she answered a phone call. I know it had been working, because there were some test emails, etc. Didn't have time, had an appointment. I guess I'll look some other time, maybe next week, another appointment possibly. Possibly could tolerate the slower internet on the phone.

That said, it appears to be the I9000 version, looks like it has the front facing camera. Nice screen on the thing, as expected. And yes, Android 2.2.

Didn't see any relevant sales on Black Friday. Still paying the etf fee for others breaking their contract, plus the smartphone BOGO. But almost no incentive at all for a new customer, single phone (unless I missed something). I'd think you'd have some customers just wanting one phone.

-Almost- went with the other V, still debating, if not for the trees, possible issues, hassle of trial. Relatively not much difference in price considering all costs/what a person gets, over two years, especially with all the sales.

I had service with Viaero. I found that in eastern Nebraska its awful. Way too many service holes, lots of dropped calls. I know its not the phones fault as my sister-in-law has the same problems with Viaero. Phone prices are high too, you can get an unlocked phone for not much more and not have to sign a contract. I will say that Customer Service was excellent. I never had to wait on hold or anything.

Got in again today. Internet was working this time. I went to a few webpages, ebay, youtube. Took about 10 seconds for some of the pages to start loading after clicking, but they worked. I tried the Youtube app., tried loading two videos, waited approximately 90 seconds each and they didn't start, so I just quit with that. Went to testmy.net (the site I mainly use to check my satellite connection), and ran a 1MB download test for mobile (download only). Tested at 148Kbps.

    That's typical for a GSM/EDGE network.

I have an unlocked 3g iphone with Viaero and want to know if the following things are a result of the unlocked iphone, Viaero service, or both:

    1. There is no option to automatically set the time on the phone from the network. Unlocked iphone issue or Viaero issue?

    2. When I send an MMS message consisting of both a picture and text, it sends both .JPG and a .TXT file. It seems as though several non-smartphones do not correctly show the .TXT file when they receive it, only the picture. Iphone issue or Viaero issue?

    Unlocked iphone 3g

I have never had an issue with my iphone 4 not having the right time set. I should set itself automatically. I know mine does, it even switched for daylight savings time. So i don't know if it is your iphone or not. Once you insert the sim it should set the time. But my iphone is also factory unlocked and I did not have to install an unlock software. As for the pictures I have no clue. Mine never sends in jpeg or txt files. But I also have the smart phone package for my iphone. But I have had an problem trying to send picture messages with the rear facing camera. I can take a picture with the front facing camera, send a video, or send a pre loaded pic. But for some reason it will always fail if I send a pic that was taken with the front facing camera. It started doing this since i updated to 4.2.1. Although I suspect you are on an older firmware. Hope this helps.

Its a iPhone issue. iPhones always split the 2 files. Try sending the text first then the picture and see if that solves your issues.

This IS an option on a regular iPhone, and it seems as though some unlocked iPhones have this option as well. Is this something the Viaero network just doesn't support?

Its a main setting on the phone. IF your phone does not have it then its not a real iPhone. All of the iPhones I have seen unlocked or not, you are able to set the time. Viaero's network does support the feature.

I have the option to set the date and time manually. What I do not have is the option to set it automatically from the network. From reading other posts on the internet, it seems that this depends on the network itself. Some iPhones have the option and others do not, depending on the network and the SIM card. But I thought Viaero did support this feature, that's why I am confused that it's not an option on my phone.

Is there any issue using the Ericsson W25 on a network to access a wireless printer? (HP printer wireless connection to W25, a few computers both wired and wireless to W25)

Also, is there any issue with the internet in Nebraska currently? I was working on my neighbor's computer again, and basically his internet is useless. It constantly does page not found, times out in the middle of things, can't get through any downloads, pages take forever to load, etc. Once in a blue moon you click a link and the page loads almost instantly. Basically what I've seen of the internet from your company, and the last time I was there, but I guess I tried using it more this time to get actual work done and was unable to. He said it's always like that. He paid over a $100 for a roof antenna directly from Viaero, no difference. He's not very far from the tower, closer than me, and the lights on the device remain solid. Computers both wired and wireless connected to the device. He is needing to file things online now, and is needing something that works. He is considering switching to something else, guess I would too, I cuss out my Wildblue but it is much, much better than that thing.

Also, he just bought the antenna a few days ago. He asked about the upgrade, and was told along the line that it was cancelled/postponed for now, and that it would be sometime next year at the earliest. I don't know who he talked to.
