    Motorola i875 problems

I have a Boost i875 one day it started shutting off by itself, now it just will not turn on at all. When I press the power button, only the spotlight on the front flashes, but will not turn on.The spotlight also flashes whenever I plug it in the charger.Any ideas?

Eh? Not necessarily liquid damage. I have seen this before on Nextel phones, which are pretty much alike from Boost phones. I found that for some reason, unknown to me that the flex cable does this to the phone. I replace the flex cable and the phones work as they should again. I will not claim that this is in fact your case but a very good possibility. Warranty?

So replacing the flex ribbon might fix it??Yeah,it's weird because when I press the power on button, not only does the spot light flash on and off with the presses of the button, you can also see the outside LCD wanting to turn on,but it dont.Where can I get a flex ribbon? Is it the ribbon that connects to the flip up lid to the body?

Flex cable is the cable that connects the main board to the lcd. Your problem sounds more and more like the flex cable as I have experienced this twice before.

You can check out this site for disassemble instructions: http://repair4mobilephone.org/disassembly_nextel.html

Now, I do know that your phone is not listed there but should be close if not the same way to take apart as the i860 or i930.
