Not sure if it works with 100% success rate. It seems largely dependent on your phone or plan type, how long you've been a TM customer, and if the rep is in a good mood

i have tzones 5.99 on my iphone 3g. They definitely CAN see how much data you have used. I checked My Tmobile usage and this is what I saw so far for this billing cycle:

Internet Access Megabytes 51.7775

If you goto your bill summary you can see the exact amount of data for each session\day.

update- still a go guys! i just added 5.99 tzones for my gf today through chat. here is a hint, dont select product and services, then tzones because you will chat with a technical service person. just choose billing and connect to a regular customer service rep.

I thought this was dead, as I tried it a couple days ago and was told that it didn't work any more. I'll give it another try today.

Looks like it still works. I just got it added via chat with a Billing person. That's awesome since it saves a little cash and gets the unlimited T-Zones in. Funny thing, the person I chatted with said that it may not work, but she could add it. Within two hours I'll know if it works or not.

WOW WOW WOW! Can't wait to add this...switching to T-mobile in 2 weeks Have an HTC phone ready and I was told you 100% have to get the 24.99 data plan if you purchase the G1. I saw replies from others saying it is not required, so hopefully someone can shine some light on it.

It is becoming increasingly hard to add this old feature, I would not count on getting it. And using it with the G1 may work with the browser, but it will not function with the apps.

It may be in your best interest to use the $25 data (still a better deal than ATT, Sprint and VZW)

But no, the old $5.99 T-Zone plan had no limit (10GB soft-cap)
