2 days and no upsell message on tzones with the radar.
I went to a corporate store and leveled with them. How I wanted a new phone, don't mess with tzones, used line addition opportunity to get new phone, etc.
The employee said that although the policy changed Aug 8, the data plan can be removed but it would be up to the store manager. So I got to speak with him and see what latitude he will give if he does have the ability to remove required data plans.
My boss was able to buy a dumbphone to get data plan removed a month ago, but he was at the retail store on the phone with T-mobile CS fighting tooth and nail with his hardship story while the store employees listened on the sidelines.
Just order the upgrades online and keep your old data plan. Do not call in or go to store because you will have to add expensive or limited data plan.
Nope. I still have T-zones on the original three lines. The new lines are the ones with the $10 internet.
They must have different internet offerings for different legacy plans. The only one's they said I could have were the $10 or $30. ones. They didn't mention anything about a $20 plan.
(Off topic: Is anyone else showing eligible for 6 lines or is it just me? Rep said I could order another line and it shows on MyTmobile that I'm eligible for a sixth line. I think the system is just screwed up.)

I agree, do not upgrade online, unless its a dumbphone if you value your T-Zones plan.
Sent from my HTC Incredible S
And I'm also a Mac
I recently upgraded online to Nokia Astound ( 2 lines) and kept $5web2go. I haven't seen a primary report of this plan or tzones being dumped without a warning. If this occurs, return the phone and call retentions to add back the old data plan. If you have a family plan with the old data plan still on other lines, this should be no problem. I would do this if there was another phone I wanted, but of course this is at your own risk.
Ok, I found a thread where a customer without a dataplan was slammed with data for buying smartphone upgrade online. He also had a family member call in to a csr which might have been an issue. I won't upgrade until somebody confirms you will not get your data plan yanked. Still plenty of cheap compatible phones on eBay without the two year extension of an upgrade.
