HTC website mentions the phone has AWS bands but so far Tmobile users have only been able to use the phone on edge. Xda devs are trying to hack the phone to enable the AWS band. Right now the phone wouldn't be a good option unless you want to be stuck on edge.

I have horrible news.
Bought a Galaxy Nexus from google a couple weeks ago, been using it with my $5.99 Tzones plan without any issues, didn't have to set apn or anything, just popped in my sim and all worked. I noticed it set the apn automatically to epc.tmobile.com
Just last night while browsing some sites, I started getting an upsell page from T-Mobile saying something about purchasing a hotspot tethering plan.
It doesn't happen on every site but looks like they might be cracking down
Anybody have any suggestions?
Somebody mentioned switching to ipv6, can you.please elaborate how that could help.
Here's a screenshot of the message I'm getting:

Usually it should only pull up that message if you're tethering with a pc browser. Tethering other wifi devices (such as an iPad) should be fine. T-Mobile detects a pc browser and blocks the browser from surfing the web. You can use the User Agent Switcher plug-in contained in Firefox or built into Chrome to disguise your browser as a mobile OS and you won't get the tethering upgrade message. T-mobile will think you're using a mobile device and will be fine with it. Also if a pc has a standalone streaming music player or other non browser related software, T-Mobile doesn't usually block that either. They are lazy, they just look for the standard browsers.
Thanks for the info. The thing that worries me is that I'm getting that message very often now and NO BODY used my hotspot on their PC. It was only tethered to other cellphones.
I'm starting to think that they are slowly blacklisting my imei....
Anybody else having issues with their galaxy nexus purchased from google?
