What's the roaming data cap on the $2.99 T-Zones? I was away from home this weekend and AT&T roaming is enabled so I roamed w/ AT&T off and on; I used 90% of my own roaming data allowance -- a whopping 100MB on my 5GB web plan -- but my other line has $2.99 T-Zones and is at 20MB+ with no alerts or anything.

The T-Mo FAQ says that 1MB data plans (which is what T-Zones originally was) gets 10MB of roaming data. I'm just curious. Didn't get a chance to use much data on that line but I checked MyT-Mobile and it's displayed differently than my own line with preferred web. Mine shows my domestic roaming allotment, the T-Zones line does not.

Whatever the case, it was 2G only for both T-Mobile and AT&T so needless to say, I wasn't able to use much data anyway!
Castrol EDGE 5W-30 is my drug of choice.

    Primary: iPhone 5 (AWS), Lumia 521, and Exhilarate HSPA+/LTE (T-Zones line): 5 lines, 1x $15 4.5GB data, 3x $2.99 T-Zones (truly unlimited 4G data), myFaves, corp discount + $10/mo loyalty discount = $94/mo tax inclusive
Secondary: iPhone 3GS: Airvoice Wireless, Samsung Fascinate & HTC Trophy: Page Plus

I don't think there has ever been an official announcement on what the roaming data allotment is for a Tzones account. There may not be an allotment. I would think if there was it would be trackable online. Maybe somebody can test the theory out.

Has anyone had success changing their plan to the Unlimited Value—Talk + Text and keep their T-Zones or $5 phone first plans?

$5.99 T-Zones will not work on the new Even More Plus or Value plans

The $5 Preferred phones 1st data plan will though. Data is throttled after 5GB

Nice! Yet another reason to hang on to T-Zones. I wonder if the preferred phone first web has the same perk.. maybe because they're not smartphone plans, T-Mo doesn't cap them.

Whatever the case, I had reactivated my Virgin Mobile phone to use as a hotspot juuuust in case. $25/mo for 'unlimited' (throttled at 2.5GB) was worth it for me. The 100MB roaming data cap is really just not even, even on EDGE!

Yes, the AT&T model Atrix HD works on that plan, as confirmed a few pages back. You must unlock it before it will accept a T-mobile SIM, but other than that it works fine.

AT&T, as with all their android phones, disables tethering, so users are waiting on root or foxfi to enable that feature

As it mentioned before Atrix HD works when unlocked. I am actually at the same position as you are.
Looking to replace my HD2. Atrix is much more powerful device comparing to Galaxy Nexus and comparable to SGS3.
The only problem it is just very hard to find now. I am trying to get one for a couple of weeks with no luck...

After about 3-4 months you can grab them cheap on Cowboom. No more importing costly AWS phones from overseas

I'm using the Atrix HD now and pretty happy so far. I was on the same boat debating between Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 X. Then the Atrix HD showed up. With just a little more expensive than the Galaxy Nexus (net cost), the choice is pretty clear. I've seen listing on eBay around $400.

I just saw that the newest firmware for the Zoom travel router now supports tethering to an Android phone. Has anyone tested this?

I need a new phone and want one that tethers to the Zoom router and works with T-zones/Total Internet. The phone nees to have a good radio. I don't have a very good signal and need the Zoom router so I can put the phone where the signal is good.
