Not sure if it is changed this month or last month.

I have not made any changes or upgraded my phone. I have been using Nokia N900 for the past two year. Is TMobile changing TZones data plan? Any ideas?
You have the same old voicestream original plan as jet. Call retentions, have them remove your overage, and place a data block on your line. T-Zones will continue to work

I called the Store manager and he said he didn't have the power to remove a required data plan.
He offered to help with an economical solution.
I clearly stated I did not want to change my grandfathered plan and lose t-zones, so don't bother.

Then I called customer loyalty to see if they could do anything about removing data or the restocking fee and he said he could not.
But I lamented how the store rep sold it to me under false pretenses and he said I'd have to take it up with the rep who sold it to remove restocking fee. As insult to injury I said I could have gotten the phone for free through wmdeals.com

Then he offered to get me the Radar I wanted by changing the data plan to the 200mb for $10 and applying a $10 bill credit for 2 years. In exchange he will extend the contract on all 3 lines(2 mobile, 1 @home) for 2 years. He said the other lines are still eligible for upgrades. Of course I wouldn't lose tzones at any cost, so I had him change the data plan on my wife's line who has pref. web2go. Since she has an Iphone, she will never use more than 200mb data.
So by extending contract on all lines (I had no intention of leaving), I get a free Radar and my monthly bill gets dropped $5/month (free data on her line). After I get the phone I may be able to get the $100 trade in rebate on top of that.

I called the store rep I got the phone from and he verified that data cannot be removed and apologized for his mistake. But since he's 80 miles away I will try to return to a local corporate store and see if they will waive the $50 restocking fee. If not he said to have the store call him.

Thanks..will try it out. There is an option in online account management to select "no data". Would that work as well? But anyways I have to call about the overage fees. TMobile just updated my last month's bill and the overage is around $50.

I have a Nexus One that i can't get to connect anymore on my tzones plan. I know sometimes I get the upsell message but that normally lasts only a few hours or a day but it's been over a week now. If I put my sim into a nokia n82 i can use the net but switching back to the N1 and I get the upsell message. I've tried using all the different apns but no let me through.

    Anyone got any ideas?

yes, you can select "no data", and T-Zones will still run on your plan. To be safe, I would still confirm with the loyalty representative when you call in about the overage fee.

wait for the billing cycle to end, and then try again.

Or if you have an old T-Mobile dumbphone, try placing the SIM in it, making a phone call, and then putting it back in your Nexus. Good luck

I've tried the other apns but I get the up sell message with all of them.

    etc, wap, wap2, internet2

When I put my sim in an old nokia I can get to the web but not my N1? In fact I used my sim in my brothers nexus and have the same problem.

When I looked to do that online, right before it asked me to confirm the change to no data, I clicked the "terms" and it said I was agreeing to a new 2 year contract!

So I called customer service instead to have them add the data block to the line. Once the data block was added on, my t-zones kicked in like normal and I was not charged for any more data.

But anyways I have to call about the overage fees. TMobile just updated my last month's bill and the overage is around $50.
Here's the link on tmonews showing the information given to T-Mobile employees that the credits would be given:

    http://www.tmonews.com/2011/11/t-mob...-use-data-use/

Having this information may be helpful when you call. However, some employees may not have seen the notice yet.

Antenna recommends that you call as if you're looking to cancel your service. Then you should get transferred to the retention department which should be more inclined to give you a refund.

Oh I didn't know about the 10 200 mb plans, last time I had checked, they were 15 so for 20 I opted for the preferred 5 gb one.

    Thanks

Are phones described as follows on eBay OK on TZones?

HTC Sensation 4G (no reference to Z710E)

    Model: Sensation 4G
    MPN: 99HNA034-00UNLOCK
    Carrier: Unlocked

Picture: The brand T-Mobile does NOT appear on the phone

(Will send message to seller to confirm it don't say T-Mobile before buying)

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/HTC-Sensatio...-/120821840135

One seller explicity claims TZones, but again I do not see Z710E model number:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/220904829904

So, is anything claiming to manufacturer part number 99HNA034-00UNLOCK safe

    tzones contract discount

Hey Guys I know we cant upgrade our phones cause we then lose tzones but I just reupped my contract for 2 years and got a $10 dicount per month for 2 years and I keep everything the same. So it's reupping without a phone upgrade. I figure the savings of $240 will help subsidize my non tmobile branded phone (whenever I can find a safe source for the sensation non-tmo or telus SGS2). ALSO to make it even better say I change my mind, give up and get a data plan in 6 months they will give me the discount on a phone and just extend the contract the extra 6 months.

A great way to stay with tmobile, not lose tzones, and still get something for staying on.

    Go through retentions of course.

This does move you to the current terms and conditions including T-Mobile's right to throttle you and their request that you not tether, or did they say they would keep the throttle limits off your TZones? I am concerned that users of TZones/Total Internet can acquire throttle limits if they move off of 2004 T&Cs by taking contracts after June 2008 T&Cs came out. Take your new phone over 5gb in one month and tether it a bunch and let us know how it goes.

How confident are we that Telus SGS2 is safe for the legacy data plans?

Also are the Sensations I mentioned this morning above appropriate for TZones / Total Internet, or should I really be looming for Z710E only?

T-Zones never officially supported tether, like total internet. As long as you only do it a few times a billing cycle, and only use a little, you should be ok.

Best way to tell with eBay phones is to message seller and ask if it has T-Mobile logos on it. Good luck
