I hope this phone slipped through the cracks. I will probably get one through the play store if Tzones is official, but if I can pay 200 vs 350 why not.Okay everyone, I got my hands on a Nexus 4 from the TMobile store, basically upgraded a line from my old family plan. However, I do have another line with t-zones that I didn't touch so I dropped that sim in the nexus 4 and right now I'm putting it through its paces. I haven't seen an upsell message yet, but I've only had my t-zones sim in there for about an hour.
One promising note, there's no tmobile branding on the packaging or when the phone powers up. Everything says Google.

For the last time: NOT all Nexus S phones are blocked from tzones!
GT-I9020 or GT-I9020T which are/were sold in the us ARE blocked
GT-I9023 which has the exact same bands but sold elsewhere worldwide is NOT blocked.

AFAIK, all the Nexus One's got banned from web2go/t-zones >1 year down the road. Still need to be careful with the Nexus 4

Not bad at all for BT tethering. Thanks. I think I will get it anyway. It is still smaller & cheaper than some tablets out there with Android 4.2.

Hello everybody. I have 3 Nexus 4 phones coming in the mail tomorrow. (ordered from the Google store. 2x 8gig and 1x16gig) They will be tested on the 2.99 Tzones and the 9.99 tzones. I will keep you guys updated how it works and if the upsell message occours. I am crossing my fingers that it works I cannot wait. PS if you ordered them from Texas, it seems they are shipping out of KY not California. Cheers and let us all hope that the tzones will work with no upsell message!

yes, that is true, but the device in discussion right now is the nexus 4 that is sold in the US, from google US and tmobile-US. the I9020 would be the model that parallels this and it was blocked about a week and a half after it was released. the I9023 was much more difficult to get your hands on, and was never sold by google US or tmobile-US.
i think people are just stating the pertinent facts regarding the nexus devices.

According Gizmodo Cnet and T-Mobile site, the Nexus 4 will be carried by T-Mobile and sold for 199.99 with a contract. When a phone is sold by T-Mobile, it usually means our beloved t-zones plans are blocked and will receive the upsell page.
With that said, I could be totally wrong...and lets hope I am wrong. My brother's thinking about upgrading from the Galaxy Nexus to Nexus 4

Ok yes I understand your point, but since every once in a while someone comes into this thread & starts asking about what phone to buy to use with tzones, the Nexus S is still being updated by google & model GT-I9023 is a viable option thus I wish for folks to be more specific when they state: "nexus S is blocked from tzones"
Yes unfortunately nexus 4 being the same exact model/model number worldwide & tmobile carrying it plus the previous experience with nexus one and nexus S does not give much hope & I thank those that took the plunge to buy it anyways so we may lean from their experience!
