How to turn off EVDO on G'zone

HI, I've searched but couldn't find anything to indicate how or even if I can turn off EVDO on my G'zone Boulder new edition with front speaker. Can anyone help, or should I just contact Verizon Tech support? Thanks ahead for your help, and I hope this question hasn't already been asked and I just missed it. Thank you again,

what does turning EVDO off do?

Freddy - turning off EVDO may improve your battery life if you are in an area where the phone has to spend a lot of time "searching" for an EV-DO signal...this has been known to drain a battery a lot faster than if you are in an area with great reception...

Another reason for turning off the EV-DO would be to avoid using the EV-DO network if you are tethering your phone with a laptop...this would force it to 1x speeds...

I am attempting to use the simple 14.4kb QNC DUN by forcing the phone to 1x only, and enabling QNC in the service menu, but I keep getting directed to https://dunsp.vzw.com/selfProvisioni...sioningServlet.
