Can someone share the secret? I picked up a boulder to use as a glovebox phone to my StraighTalk (ATT) service and have disabled EVDO, but my phone is still leaking data via 1x every time I turn it on.
Thank you.
And in case anyone cares, I cannot use PP as my primary because VZ doesnt have any CO's (yet) in the 907 NPA to port my number to.
Could you explain what you mean by leaking data?
The purpose of turning off EVDO is to save battery life.
If your boulder is running on Verizon and you don't want any data being used by it the have Verizon put a data block on that line, or you could do it through my Verizon.
Leaking data? Every time I turn the phone on it shows "Registering Applications". Ive performed a master reset and no change.
The line is active on PagePlus and seems to be pinging a server somewhere.
Also, battery life on these phones is kinda poor (800ma battery), so disabling EVDO to enhance the battery longevity is useful since I dont plan on using it for much data and spend a lot of time in rural areas.
;; broken: LG VX8700 (blank screen) and Motorola E815 (broken hinge)

We just purchased the Ravine 2 and found that turning off EVDO on the Ravine 2 is a variation on the instructions on the first page; hopefully I did this correctly
Ravine 2
- # # 8 3 7 8 and press send
- there are just three options:
"1. Force Mode" , "2. Change P_REV", and "3. Hybrid Setting";
choose "1. Force Mode" and select "CDMA Only" by moving the direction pad down and then press "OK"
- then either press the "CLR" clear several times to exit the programming menus to return to the home screen or press the red disconnect key to return to the home screen
- If you go into either "2. Change P_REV" and "3. Hybrid Setting" and accidentally change the setting, the default for the former is "IS-2000" and the default for the latter is "On"
