    Call-being-connected tones

Does anyone know if there's a way to kill the annoying tones that sound as the S55 is connecting the call?

I don't think it can be disabled.

I suppose I will too, but it would just be nice not to have to get used to something like that. The phone is so customizable in the first place, I'm surprised they don't let you turn that off.

That setting does not affect the progress tone that you get when the phone is connecting a call.

These tones are generated by the GSM system and not the phone itself.

Then why does no other phone I've used make those noises?

It's not an uncommon thing. I have used a couple fones besides the Siemens over the past couple years that have given a funky connection tone when the call was going through.

That is not true... if you read my previous post I wrote that there are other fones that do the same thing... it's not a Siemens mobile thing.
