    I think you should consider having someone else do this for you. You could ruin your phone permanently if you do something wrong.

    I didn't change the <allowed-language> on this part, but the one I am using changed to en, zh, zs
    on <clock>, I changed the date to 2009-01-01
    on <network>, I deleted EVERYTHING, you don't need it at all
    on <mmi>, <show-sos-calls> determine whether the phone displays "Emergency Calls Only" or not
    the top line of <home-network-specific> is removed, you don't need this MNC
    on <shortcut> and <shortcut-list>, I just copy the one from T-Mobile version, changed from "locked-item" to "standard-item", you can configure d-pad freely
    on <dcom> list, I fixed the one on ID#2, now I use wap.myvoicestream.com instead of www.t-zones.com (cannot open)
    on <user-profiles>, you may want to change <vibrating-alert>
    0=fully disabled
    1=only at slient mode
    2=vibrate all the time

    this one is the final, no more changes will be done
    Can you clarify this, what file is this and do you have your edited copy available for download?

    It's the customize.xml file that Scottish designed to be run with the Cincinnati Bell firmware.

    He posted it in this forum on Feb 15th. Just combine the files together.

    you have to have Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS)
    press 2 when you're ready, and plug USB cable
    you should see a new hardware being installed

    I did that already, first I update the phone, which is already updated, but when I want to do step 1 instruction and U run setool, it opens the program but in the phones I don't see my phone, and neither the z780. and then I don't see any tab click "FileSystem Tool" the only one I think is the one on the right side which saids IDENTIFY I think this is the one right?. welll then I press number 2 with the phone off and the usb on my hand, I run IDENTIFY AND it doesn't finds the phone info.This is what I get:
    unknown chip id (900), retry
    Can't load ID Loader!
    Elapsed:5 secs.

    thankx

    SEtool DOES NOT support A2 models, nor XS++
    you must use a2uploader

    Mercedes,

    You really need to follow post #1 of this thread to the letter. Post #1 doesn't say anything about setool. It talks about a2uploader. You keep running into problems because you're not following the steps listed. At first you couldn't get a2uploader to run because you didn't use the link in post #1. I verified that link is still accurate. And now you're trying to apply the instructions to setool instead of a2uploader and you're wondering why you can't do it.

    Follow the instructions exactly. Then after you reflash the phone with Sony Ericsson update service, don't turn on the phone. Follow Scottish instructions in post #15.
