I'm having a problem with SEUS. It gives an update error and asks to start over.It takes forever to download all the updates the program requires since i'm having using T-Mo Edge, but it eventually got done. I followed all the instructions given here and the other guide so the phone works great, just wasn't able to do the SEUS part.Any thoughts?

Ok nevermind, got it. I had a proxy error with the internet. Got it figured out. Just one question. What 2 .itm files needs to be deleted in /tpa/preset/custom to get ird of all cin bell branding? They said to get rid of the hook files but didn't specify what the .itm files are named.

2 desktop hook .itm files, as well as Cin .jpg file (it's stored in /tpa/user/pictures, RW it first)

You guys rock. This is actually starting to look similar to the flashing/flexing & modding of Motos. Just different file names and extensions. Just gotta get the hang of it. Next thing is to change the menu icons once I read up on it some more.

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I think this is actually easier than SEEM edits and code thats similar to binary. I like the file system on these phones a lot more, and the phones themselves are far better than the moto phones I've had.

    No Internet connection

Any help is appreciated. I cannot seem to get connected to the web after the CB upgrade. Nice to have the FM radio, but the internet would be nice as well. What is the config?

Use the T-Mobile configurator and have it send you the internet and MMS settings. They don't list the TM506 as a Sony-Ericsson phone, but any recent model will work.

Thanks Riverman! Yes, I didn't see the TM506 and got confused. Been pulling my hair out for the past 2 hours now.

Yeah I'm right there with you.It took a while to get the seem editing and skins/themes down right. This is pretty straight forward to me, it's kinda set up more like a file system on a computer.

do you have xml editor and a2uploader?
just put my contents together, and make it Customize_upgrade.xml, then put it into
    /tpa/preset/custom
after a few minutes, you should have ALL T-Mobile settings (web, tethering, MMS, wireless village)

Ok, am I stupid or something? I'm not even able to get past the "Hold down the 2 key" part. Do I press and hold it while the phone is on? Sim in or out?

Maybe I just need sleep, but this frustrating me..

SEUS has to be installed first.

The phone needs to be OFF, SIM in or out(it doesn't matter)

Hold down 2 and then plug in the cable.

Keep holding down 2 as long as it takes for windows to recognize the device.

There will be a "found new hardware" notification if you're connecting it for the first time.

I have SEUS installed, plugged in, held down on the 2 key for 5+ minutes and the only thing it's doing is going into USB Mode. I'm going to try a different cable from work today to see if it's that. I've tried this on two seperate PCs.

I think the most frustrating part of this is I've been hacking phones for years and feel like a noob for not being able to get past this one simple (you'd assume) step.

Phone OFF, press and hold "2" key, then plug the cable to your phone.
