    One more question!
I've been reading a bunch of "rumors" that Fido is coming out with the Curve 8900 this summer. Would a Fido 8900 (I'm with Fido) be better than an unlocked T-Mobile 8900? Keep in mind I've never once used MMS in my life. But I'd hate to buy an unlocked phone only to find out Fido releases the phone in a month...but if it is only rumors I'd hate to keep myself waiting (ah dilemma!)

Any update on when fido will fix the issue with downloading the IM software on the 15$ unlimited e-mail plan?

i'm not sure why there isn't a thread like this over at the rogers forum, but this is a general question:

i just picked up my 8900 today and am very happy w/ most of the functions; however, i can't seem to get bluetooth or wifi to work. why is this?

doubt this would affect it, but i'm don't have a data plan, but do have a blackberry messaging plan.

A Fido 8900 would allow for UNO service.

I have gone through the forums and tried to search, but I cant seem to get anywhere.

I recently purchased a used Blackberry 8300 (AT&T). The previous owner called AT&T to release the PIN, which he says was done successfully.

I called Fido, and setup the $15 unlimited BB feature (may 28).

Since may 28, I have been trying to setup email on my phone, with no luck.

The fido website (fido.blackberry.com) says that the device is registered to another carrier, but AT&T says they have released the PIN.

I have talked to Blackberry support, and they say that the PIN is not registered to AT&T anymore.

Because it is a non-Fido phone, Fido wont help me much.

I don't have the email setup icon on my phone, and from searching the forums, I found that the service carrier should be sending the Service Books. When I call fido and ask them to do that, they have no clue what Im talking about.

I also tried going through the Host Routing Table option, and nothing happens with that either.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

    Is the phone unlocked?

Hi, Thanks for your quick reply.

The phone is unlocked, I have been using it on Fido for a couple weeks now. As of sunday, the gentleman at fido told me that he has setup the BB email service (supposedly, even though the other people I spoke with said it is setup since thursday, it wasnt.

    -unlocked
    -BB $15 email package setup
    -PIN released from AT&T

    Hi everyone,

I recently purchased an unlocked T-Mobile Blackberry 8900 on eBay. The device arrived and it IS unlocked. Today, I called Fido and asked to be moved from my current prepaid service to a monthly plan with the $25/500mb data option.

My problem is that when I go to www.fido.blackberry.com and try to register my device, it says my device is already registered to another carrier. It also says to try registering through the Blackberry itself; however, my Blackberry's HRT is empty and the only service books I have are for wifi. I contacted the seller and asked them to call T-Mobile to release the PIN and they responded saying "their supplier does not provide PIN release service." However, they did give me the following steps:

You need another SIM with a BB DATA PLAN active and with access to the blackberry portal...

1.- Put the other SIM in your BB and wait for the message that say "your device bla bla bla..."
    2. Go to the BB portal where the SIM account that is WORKING xxx.blackberry.com and when you get the message that if you want to change to a new device and ACCEPT. when you do this YOUR BB is now on the NEW network, send the service book and wait.
    3. Put the SIM again in the other BB and make again the change, now YOUR BB is in the limbo (with any account created)
    4. PUT YOUR SIM in YOUR BB and go to the portal, in your case goto fido.blackberry.com and try to register.
Does anyone know if this will work? I'm assuming I'll need to find someone else with a Fido Blackberry that I can borrow. Or can I call T-Mobile and ask them to release the PIN?

    Thanks!!

The Storm is not 3G compatible on North America HSPA networks. It's only for CDMA (Bellus) and overseas 3G HSPA networks.

Next time check the specs first!

You need: HSPA (3G) on the 850/1900 bands.

    Hello all-

I tried to search and wade through all of this but still can't find the answer. I bought my partner an unlocked (t-mobile) curve 8320. We want to try it without data to start to see if data is needed. popped the sim card (from the pebl used before) and wifi was fine and messengering worked right away.

Went over to the island and came back. All messages go into draft and won't send.

    1) how do we set up the curve so we can message (don't need pinning)? If we should use a third party which one? This is the most important thing now as it is crazy making not to be able to text
    2) Browsing with wifi works fine with BB browser (will this also fail at some juncture)?
    3) is there a way to make sure the BB does not connect to the network (outside of wifi) when not at home. Want to make sure we don't incur charges.
    4) and i know slightly off the topic for this board but would be interested if anyone is using a mac and syncing with missing sync for the 8320

    thanks very much

lol that would be a good idea. I want to switch my other line from iphone to blackberry too but don't want to give up my 6gig data on that line since I like to tether with it.

does the bb bold work in 3g? 600 dollar paper weight bb storm how fun! i did the same thing with the htc diamond and bought it the first day it came out and then realized how ****** it really is. oh well

I bought a unlocked AT&T 8120 to use on FIDO. I'm only using it pay-as-you-go at the moment, and everything seems to work, except I can't seem to browse and use any data unless I'm in WIFI mode. That's fine when I have an access point to use, but I want to occasionally be able to to use the browser to check my gmail and look thinks up. Does anyone have any idea whta I may be doing wrong?
