    Hello --

I just received a BB Curve 8310 (ATT) that I am using on Fido. I have signed up for the 500mb plan.

My email is working just fine but I cannot I get the broswer to connect to the internet. I get the following message "unable to connect to the internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact your service provider."

I assumed that Fido had given me the $15 unl. email plan instead of the $25 500mb data plan but when speaking with tech support they said that the correct plan was added.

Does anyone have any fixes so that I can get on to the internet? Again, the e-mail part is working just fine. I have re-requested the service books, the APN is set to internet.fido.ca. I tried setting username and password to fido but that didn't help.

    Thanks!

Thanks. I tried setting them to blank and turned off the unit and then took the battery out and still nothing.

If it makes any difference I get "network notifications" that pop up when i turn the unit on but they are in weird characters.

    E-mail is still working fine.

Okay I've searched but to no avail. I bought an unlocked Cingular Pearl 8100 for my aunt. I wanted to update the software, and now I have an error 507. Now I'm trying to fix it, but was wondering if Fido's Blackberry 8100 software is available online? Fido wasn't listed as a carrier on RIM's site, so I'm downloading the Rogers version. Would prefer the Fido version though. I know it doesn't make a difference, but still. Any ideas?

My problem is that when I go to www.fido.blackberry.com and try to register my device, it says my device is already registered to another carrier. It also says to try registering through the Blackberry itself; however, my Blackberry's HRT is empty and the only service books I have are for wifi. I contacted the seller and asked them to call T-Mobile to release the PIN and they responded saying "their supplier does not provide PIN release service." However, they did give me the following steps:

Does anyone know if this will work? I'm assuming I'll need to find someone else with a Fido Blackberry that I can borrow. Or can I call T-Mobile and ask them to release the PIN?

    Thanks!!

you seem to be having the same problem as me. unlocked phone, released PIN, email still not working on fido.

i receive the same error message, and cant get past it. fido says they cant help me anymore because its not a fido branded phone, at&t cant help me because im not a customer, and blackberry wont help me unless i give them a credit card #. (funny thing is that blackberry was helping me at first, and then when they couldnt figure things out, they said that i have to start paying for the help.)

good luck! (I still havent been able to get mine working yet!)

Does everyone give customer service that same number, will they accept it? 2. If i were to get the 500MB for $25 plan will i be able to use all of the features of my BB such as push email, bb browser, and RIM branded apps? And those three features are not avaliable on the 6gb for $30 if i understan correctly right? thanks in advance.

Ok I just called Fido to add the $25data plan to my BOLD. And the did it no questions asked. They did not want to know anything my IMEI # Or My PIN # is the normal or did I just get someone that has no clue what they were doing.

    Thanks

I ended up calling RIM for tech support. Cost $55 but worth it. After lots of troubleshooting I had to wipe my unit and then download the Rogers software pack from RIM.

If I turn off data off on my blackberry 8900 temporarily from the handset. (So the emails will stop for a while), will I be able to receive SMS?

    Hello,

I have been using an unlocked 8900 on Fido for the last 5 months. I switched from the 6 GB plan with my iPhone to $25 500 MB plan with the 8900.

Here's the thing, I keep getting extra charges on my account every month. Usually $50 - $100. I have no idea why, and neither does anybody at Fido. It's not because I'm going over my usage, it just seems to charge me randomly some days and not others. Please look below for screenshots. Since it's an unlocked phone, they won't help me with anything.

Any ideas? The one thing I found and changed because of this FAQ was under Options -> Advanced Settings -> TCP/IP, I added internet.fido.ca as my APN, and left username / pass blank. Is this going to make any difference? Before it was blank...
