I'm really getting bored of this phone...its fantastic but after year and a half I really want something else but I don't want to pay $30 for data.
So besides the Touch and Instinct are there any other options? What about the new phones coming out this year? Will Bell offer more smartphones with unlimited mobile browser feature?
Thanks!

Why don't you try running Android (just google vogue android) and see if that fulfils your desire to try something new? If you do, report back, I'm interested... been considering it myself.
You could always go back to a dumbphone. They support the $7 browsing.
...Yea, I didn't think it was a good idea either.
i understand you can get bored of touch but there are so many modifications you can keep doing everyday to keep yourself excited.... trying installing a different UI .. like PointUI .. or SPB Mobile Shell.. itll make you feel like you got a new phone.. lol.. atleast for a lil while..
I hear you. It is an unbelievable deal and incredibly powerful, with the choice of several kickass software options like SPB Shell, Skyfire browser that supports flash, etc., but there is simply nothing else out there that can beat it, for the money or even much more money. Btw, remember that the Touch includes MSM, Google Maps 3.0 (with latitude), tethering (if you know how to beat the system) etc. With other PDA phones you may have to pay an extra $10 or a lot more for each of these features.Originally Posted by mikeye
The new Berry Storm, which costs an arm and a leg, has nothing but a worthless GPS on it. Do you really want to pay a lot more to do a lot less?
The only exciting phone on the horizon is the upcoming Palm Pre. Knowing Bell, the question is: HOW CRIPPLED WILL IT BE? Don't be surprised if the $30 "unlimited" plan offers very limited features. You'll probably have to pay extra to get the time of day;-)
Very good points...maybe I'll just change the faceplateOriginally Posted by VE9LRN
If you know what you are doing (that's your disclaimer)... this rom is AWESOME.
Fast, uses the latest interfaces from HTC, add the latest Opera Browser and it runs brilliantly. It's a whole new phone.
Throw on Kinoma Player too for more streaming media support (shoutcast/flickr/etc).
Also check out vids for SPB 3, I can't wait till it comes out.
And yeah, I got my Touch less than a year ago (2 months before the iPhone came out), and I'd KILL for one of the Diamonds or Pros, but I'd also rather just spend that money on a new laptop or something.
I concur with everyone here... And consider yourself lucky to pay only $7 for your unlimited browser, for the features it offers it's definitely the best deal around at Bell, considering how hard it is to get true value at Bell!!!

I'm in the same boat. I went shopping for a phone a few days after the plans were announced for the iPhone. I got a good promo and I'm paying less than $50 all-in every month for a plan that would have cost at a minimum $30 more on Rogers.Originally Posted by arlojj
I'd still love an iPhone and I have my issues with the Touch, but neither that desire nor those issues are even remotely close to being worth what I'm saving ($1000-plus over the life of the contract)
I couldn't agree more. NFSFAN's ROM is awesome.Originally Posted by arlojj
I'd also recommend CorePlayer for media playback. It can handle even a 640x360 DivX file (SDTV rip) without the need for conversion, and plays well with Orb, if you have that installed on PC at home.
On a Touch Id suggest Pocket Mame (warning HUGE files, can easily consume 16 Gigs in a month) but so much funOriginally Posted by mikeye
