Question Help converting enV2 videos to AVI

I have tried every transcoder I can find, and I haven't found one that will correctly work with the 3g2 video clips shot with my enV2. All of them I've tried botch the frame rate and most will not work with the audio at all. What are the exact specs on the enV2's 3g2 video format, and what program (preferably freeware or shareware) is good for converting it to AVI, MPEG, or anything that doesn't require Quicktime to play on a PC.

Converting videos to a 3gp format that will play on the enV2 hasn't been a problem. Every transcoder I know of does that perfectly.

MPG's can be played by other programs. How did you do this?

3g2 video is uses 'qualcomm' truevoice ? audio codec

you can convert them using quicktime, or Super with QT alternative installed

MPC 'media player classic' with QT alternative will play 3g2

Do I have to upgrade my Quicktime to Pro in order to do that in Quicktime? And are you talking about the program called "SUPER ©"?

Definitely yes to the second question, and I'm pretty sure it's a yes to the first one as well.

Not for me. It's doing the sound just fine, but the video is out of sync from the beginning and plays just a hair faster than it should, getting further out of sync as it goes along.

what settings are you using, do NOT change the frame rate, do NOT use variable bitrate audio or video, do not use 25fps for your avi

I don't have an env2 nut on my enV I used 15fps and 64k MONO audio settings

try 12fps or 15fps video and appox 300k video bitrate

12fps is the standard for many phone cam's video recording

the dare does 15fps 30fps and 120fps, but it uses the same/similar camera as the 'viewty' NOT the same one that is in the ev2

    Arrow

Using Super, FFmpeg does a good job of keeping the video at the right speed, but it won't put any audio with it. MEncoder puts the sound with it, but increases the video speed to where a 1:38 clip plays in 1:26 while leaving the sound at the correct speed. I've tried various codecs, frame rates, and bit rates with the same result. The MPlayer, however, does an excellent job of playing the original video.

I just sold my enV2 today anyway, so I can only hope I'll have better luck with the videos from my Versa I'm getting Tuesday. The book says it has an onboard video editor, and I'm really looking forward to getting to know it. Perhaps it will work with the videos from my enV2 since I know it will play them.

    New guy.
In my playing with ENV2 I use Super to convert 3g2 to another format.

Is the only one I found that converts 3g2 decently.

Another I use is for FLW video's Kangun It is easer to use and will convert other formats but not 3g2. I use this to convert videos to 3gp's and upload to the ENV2 to watch later.
I also use this for my digital camera's

For Firefox users this program to snag videos.

An example I have on my ENV2 for passing the time,
