Hola, I'm back. Phone's great, but we switched to a myfavs plan....
So, I'd like to take advantage of the updates (thanks, btw!).
But, I have no idea what to do with that code...
Add it all up?
in order?
All I want to add is myfavs, don't use the backup feature...
Also, If I went with all these settings, would the email client start using t-mobile's servers again and charge text msg's for push?
Can I just pull the customize.xml from my phone and insert the myfaves code?, if so where?
Thanks again.
I've sent several people here, all who successfully followed the prev. instructions and are very happy! (and not one of them posted noobish questions!-instead they called me...)
the new codes are put in order (from top to bottom)
but you can just add MyFaves section on Customize_upgrade.xml
make sure you put this
Code:<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <customization xmlns:scs="http://scs.sonyericsson.net/xsd/CDAGInput.xsd" xmlns:s="s.data"> <myfaves> <settings reg-path="/apps/homescreen/myfaves"> <client-only-mode type="bin">0x00</client-only-mode> <application-title type="wstr">myFaves</application-title> <application-version type="uint">0</application-version> <clientactivated type="uint">0</clientactivated> <comscreen-email type="uint">1</comscreen-email> <comscreen-im type="uint">1</comscreen-im> <servercom-smsc type="wstr">+12063130004</servercom-smsc> <servercom-listen-port-1 type="uint">5580</servercom-listen-port-1> <servercom-listen-port-2 type="uint">5581</servercom-listen-port-2> <servercom-source-port-1 type="uint">0000</servercom-source-port-1> <servercom-source-port-2 type="uint">5581</servercom-source-port-2> <servercom-source-port-3 type="uint">5582</servercom-source-port-3> <servercom-source-port-4 type="uint">5583</servercom-source-port-4> <servercom-sendaddress-sms type="wstr">453</servercom-sendaddress-sms> <servercom-mms-post-url type="wstr">http://my5.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mm1</servercom-mms-post-url> <servercom-mms-apn type="wstr">wap.voicestream.com</servercom-mms-apn> <servercom-mms-username type="wstr">Any</servercom-mms-username> <servercom-mms-password type="wstr">Any</servercom-mms-password> <servercom-mms-ip type="wstr">216.155.165.50</servercom-mms-ip> <servercom-mms-gateway-port type="uint">8080</servercom-mms-gateway-port> <download-icons-url type="wstr">http://icons.t-mobile.com</download-icons-url> <aboutpage-url type="wstr">http://help.wap.t-mobile.com/topicredirector.asp?s=MY5</aboutpage-url> <aboutpage-phone-number type="wstr">0123456789</aboutpage-phone-number> <uimode type="uint">1</uimode> </settings> </myfaves> </customization>
I use MyFaves with my TM-506, but I did not re-install the my faves settings. If you use it, the my faves interface prevents you from setting an individual text message alert for your my faves contacts. (You can still set alerts for non my-faves contacts. )Originally Posted by naxalite
As I have a different alert set for the people who text me the most, that limitation did not work for me.
I know this is gonna sound really stupid but what is "Cin bell" and "flashing"? Ya gotta learn some way. haha
Cin Bell is short for Cincinnati Bell. A regional cellular company that also sells the TM-506 with a firmware that had more features than T-Mobile's did.Originally Posted by garza350
Flashing in this case is simply putting a different firmware on the phone or modifying the existing firmware, using a program like a2uploader.
Most people use the generic firmware instead of Cinn Bell now. See the wiki for the procedure:

Any help much appreciated.
