Samsung Behold: Is it better locked or Unlocked?

Im interested in the Behold. I really want to buy one but I don't really want to buy one unlocked because they cost more. Does anyone know what features I can access with the unlocked phone that otherwise would be locked? I just want to know so I won't be missing out on anything if I do choose to get a locked one. Since I am a sort of noob, I don't really want to risk getting a locked one and getting the unlock code for it unless I am really missing out on something.

One more thing, I am on a Family plan with another phone. If I get the Behold, I know it extends the contract on MY phone service by 2 years, but does it extend the contract with the OTHER phone as well? The contracts up in November.

Unless TMo has changed their policy, you can simply get them to unlock your phone for use overseas (or anywhere). I have had them do so for a number of devices.

If you get the Behold (or Memoir - same phone - better camera) through TMO, you can upgrade for 1-2 years (different prices) on only one line - it has no impact on any other lines.
