I gave blood today!! (well techinacly yesterday)

ima start of by admitting unless you are my friend im pretty self centerd, and can come off as sorta a jerk. anyway today at school there was a blood drive and i was sitting in study hall board out of my mind casue the library was being used by a class so i couldnt surf da HOFO and i saw a poster hanging that said blood drive on the 2nd. so i was like "ill do it, its something to do. so anyway went down there and the lady told me that each pint of blood saves 3 lives cause i guess they separate the blood, hemoglobin, and plasma. and after i was done i felt good. like i made a difference, i have never felt like this before. IM A CHANGED MAN! but really as dumb as this sounds i gained a whole new perspective. i like helping people! as dumb and simple as that sounds. anways i cant sleep so i thought id share my experience. and by the way today my whole karma doesnt exist theory was solidified today when my friend and i were driving and we saw a dirt path and decided explore it and we ended up going through a puddle which tured out to be a trench and got stuck, so we eventually had to go to the real road and waived down a guy in an old chevy hd, and he pulled us out. but then again my friend was driving and he DIDNT give blood today cause he didnt want to. OMG my world has been turned upside down. i think i like obama and his left wing politics, actualy lets not jump to conclusions.

**please excuse all my grammatical errors, i can crunch numbers like calculator, but cant write a decent paper/put my thoughts on paper to save my life. but i am good at explain stuff verbally. weird. (im rambling)

i need to sleeeeepp. im wired

/rant (ended with a crappy political joke follow by a standard disclaimer)

touche, but first of all glad to see im not the only one up, i was going crazy. and second of all i am all for helping people that I WANT to help. i dont like the idea that my taxes are going to causes i may not support or believe in. i think the government should have nothing to do with "helping the people". and rather they should be private organizations independent from one another so you can chose what you want YOUR money to help/support. and obviously there are already private charities out there, but if they were ALL private there would be less government spending which would equal less tax and then the people with there leftover money from not being taxed as much could do what they want with it weather it be donating it or not. after all its their money. and they should spend it how they please. my $.02. and that probably didnt make alot of sense but start a thread in the political forum. cause i dont want this moved there cause i didnt make this particular thread to discuss political matters. although i do love arguing politics so i shall challenge you to a political dual in the politics forum tomorrow when my brain is fully functioning Moderator casue i dont wanna say something slightly off so you blue ppl can twist my words that is IF you accept

BTW i really didnt take interest in politics untill this recent election and i took the most unbiased approach i could, i went to an obama rally in cle and then i went to the Palin rally back to back days and it solidified my political stance. and as a side note the obama rally had approx 80,000 (according to my local fox station, so it could have been more pple there and i didnt even get to see him in person, just his motorcade and on the big screens everywhere. and the Palin rally was the following day in Lakewood which is a suburb of cleveland and there were probably about 700 people there. 500 supporters 100 socialists oops i mean democrats and the rest were cops and media. i was actually able to get close to her which was cool cause i got some cool action shots. plus her accent is like baby's laughter and makes me smile. the point im getting at is that i live in a pretty democratic area. which has got me to accustomed to arguing politics. i even enjoy a nice heated discussion. and all of those numbers in attendance were rough guestimations. i even went to the little wayne concert with my friend (im not really a rap fan) so just for S&Gs i wore my mccain shirt. i got booed almost constantly the entire time. well theres another one of my pointless rambles that are caulk full of irrelevant information and more grammatical errors then days Mccain was a POW

I gave blood last week...first time in about 8 years.

I organized a blood drive when I was active in the Boy Scouts, so that made me feel like the blood given was MINE. Haha..

The blood saves 3 lives because they split the packed red cells, plasma, and platelets, and can transfuse those into 3 separate patients.

Part of the lab I work at has a large blood bank for transfusions of patients in the hospital, and you wouldn't believe how many units of red cells, plasma, and platelets are gone through in a day. You did a great thing by donating!
