I thought this would be a good opportunity for those of you locals to get to know eachother better. You can read my entry in the West / Desert Southwest sub forum here: http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1503908
I am from north central Florida - been living here my whole life. While usually not traveling farther south than Orlando, and no further north than Jacksonville - I stay within what I would consider north central Florida (Jacksonville, DeLand, Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Seminole County, Leesburg, Clermont, Apopka - and everywhere in between).
I've had my T-Mobile account since 2000 - and been happy with it through the years. In north central Florida; especially inland, the network has grow very strong, and covers both the urban and rural inland areas. The coastal areas have always been covered due to Interestate 95 running through that area. As I've been with T-Mobile they have become an increasingly better value for both myself and my whole immediate family (as you can see in my signature). The cost breaks down to $24.99 per line (that gives me [per line]: Unlimited MyFaves, Unlimited Mobile-to-Mobile, Unlimited 9PM N/Ws, Unlimited SMS/MMS, Unlimited Dumbphone Data, and a 1500 anytime minute bucket to share between the five lines [plus the normal 500 call forwarding per line, voicemail, 3-way calling, call waiting, and caller ID]).
While the T-Mobile network has made vast improvements over the years, there are still some more rural areas that either have no service, or do not have adequate signal to establish reliable service - this is where the beauty of having Starbucks and Paneras dot almost everytown - cause I can use the UMA to make/recieve calls!
While with T-Mobile through these nine years; I've also used at&t and Sprint (both of which have been disconnected). While at&t beats T-Mobile in the size of their network; T-Mobile's quality trumps that of at&t (at least in my personal opinion). Sprint... Sprint's network is one of the best in the area! I just wanted to pull all my lines into one family plan to make it easier for everyone - so we choose T-Mobile; because for the whole family (of 5) they gave use the best bang for our buck!
Im near you up here in Tallahassee,FL. The sad thing is I love T-mobile, but the coverage here is just worthless. As soon as you go inside you lose signal. Its sad because I love the BB Flip, but I can't use it because the network is so shoddy up here.
I am an Atlanta native... I moved to Tallahassee back in 2004. I only have TMobile prepaid service; the Gold Rewards is nice... only refill annually with any amount As of now, I am using a Nokia E63 because I had to ship off my Renew to warranty exchange (data and MMS not working... both work on the Nokia). I have had this account since 2006... I have used TMo off and on since 1999 (when they were Powertel). I would be locked into a TMo contract if they had more coverage in these parts ... So I am primarily a Verizon user (with ATT for data on the Nokia, for now)
I mainly travel in my immediate area and metro Atlanta, where TMo is decent (from what I can tell)
Transplanted upstate NYer outside of Atlanta. Been with the Magenta T since the PowerTel days. No complaints but they could up the 3G coverage a bit more
Has anyone from (west)Knoxville been having coverage issues?I have tried 2 different phones and have had the same results.Lots of dropped calls and low signal areas. It just started in the last week or so.In building coverage in certain places has also gotten worse.
Wow, been a while since this topic/subforum has had a post in it!
Well I'm a recent T-Mobile user, month old.. Am from around the Hickory, NC area.
Love the 4G coverage here.. sadly step away from that coverage just a tad and you're back to EDGE or worse GPRS.
Excellent coverage everywhere i've been though, so calling/texting people is never an issue. Can't say the same for Sprint in this area.
