Coverage sucks in many places of Florida with T-Mobile.
If you hit a big city, usually very good 4G coverage.. but you start hitting the 'small' towns and you're screwed.
I left Fort Lauderdale, FL (good coverage) to Avon Park, FL (little south of Orlando area) took US27 all the way up. For at least half the trip, I had NO COVERAGE. My T-Mobile signal stayed on "Searching..." most of the trip.
I'm starting to learn that road trips and T-Mobile aren't a good combination.
As a brief owner of the Sidekick 4G I can say the antenna on the phone pales in comparison to my Galaxy S 2 and it has some weird radio issues where it goes from 3-4 bars to 0 and either stays there or picks back up again. I didn't take it out on the road but all Samsung smartphones before the Galaxy S 2 easily have worse reception than the GS2. I traded the Sidekick 4G for a Galaxy S 4G and it's the same story and actually even worse because the Galaxy S 4G's radio will get stuck sometimes and require a reboot.
My GS2 is the only phone that can give me decent reception at one of my school's classes, where the Galaxy S 4G/Sidekick 4G/Vibrant would easily drop out of service.

Which is why almost no one in florida can use t-mobile unless they stick to the interstates or major cities....
I gave them a year of my money... and still they havent improved their shoddy network around Tallahassee.
