Behold internet access with 5.99 Tmobile Web plan

I used this and I got through and have full access to the internet!

    Dial *#6984125*#
Go to "Network & Call settings"
    Go to Connections
    Go to Browser
    Set Access Name to "wap.voicestream.com"
    Scroll down to Proxy Address
    Set Proxy Address to "216.155.165.50:8080"

    You're finished! Happy web browsing.

Does this fix look familiar? It's the same for Windows Mobile Devices like the Dash and Wing!

Note, this is not a TRUE html web surfing experience, but it gets you online and will take you to any website you want. If it has a mobile version of the site, it will take you there, but like if you go to www.myspace.com it will ask you whether or not you want the PC version or the Mobile version.

I'm glad it helped someone. I saw other fixes for this, but they didn't work for me...so I just tried the Windows Mobile fix on my Behold and it worked!

    Woot!

Notice: T-mobile may "auto switch" you to the Smartphone ($25) data plan and you will loose your <$6 data plan if they detect your IMEI.

T-mobile classifies the t919/t929 phones as a smartphone (its just a touch screen basic phone, but T-mobile has re-done its data plans in November to include this in the more expensive plans)

    Just be aware.

That's why I haven't swap my SIM into my wife's phone and try this hack. I don't want to lose my $5.99 T-Zones.

I have not heard of anyone being "force' switched. Many posters are using the 5.99 plan. I let it go on a different phone a while back, and could not get it back when I tried in December. But they cannot force you to switch to a different plan.

I now have the 9.99 plan, and have used it on a Behold (returned) and Memoir (possibly will be returned, as even the camera is not exactly what it has been cracked up to be...).

Like bachviet, I won't even touch the G1 or Samsung t919/t929 because I'm afraid this hard to get plan will go away. Its not worth it, and I am content with my tether + Nokia 6263 and tm506.

    5.99 tzones plan and behold

I had a nokia 5300 on the tzones, and was afraid if I purchased the behold, that I would lose my tzones, but I did not. The tzones stays on your sim card, so you just have to make it a condition that if you purchase the behold you want the tzones to remain in place.

If you have studied many of the numerous posts in this and other forums - yes it is gone!

So far, it is "grand-farthered" for existing users, but not new. That is how I ended up with the $9.99 plan - I let it go a while back

Just wanted to verify that Opera mini still doesn't work correct?

Nope, I still haven't been able to figure out how to make that work.

I'm sure it would work if I could alter how opera mini connects to the internet, but it seems to be set up to access the net only directly and not through a proxy.

That was the difference between the behold and a smartphone with internet explorer. You COULD change how the internet was accessed with explorer, but I haven't found a way to do that with the Behold's default browser.

If I could set it up to access the internet through a proxy, it would work.

The only way I have found to upload photos to facebook is sending the pictures via email to facebook.

Or have they changed this? You used to have your own facebook email photo upload address that you'd have to send the photo to, and it would upload to your facebook.

Or was that myspace? I don't remember anymore.

Does the maintenance menu have a phone level (scope) proxy configuration menu?

I thought that proxy'ing was always done at the phone level.
