1. Call and ask to change the CNAM field to whatever you want. I think, however, the Boost unlimited terms state you cannot use it as a business line though.
2. When I signed up online, I got to choose from a list of prefixes.

Hi people I have been a Boost user off & on for a couple of years, but my Nextel has been enough phone for the last few months. I am excited about the new unlimited plan & will probably get my sim reacctivated, but would like to get a couple of questions answered if possible.
1. Will the Boost reps let me customize what my outgoing caller ID shows, such as a business name?
2. How good are they are trying to find a good #, such (***) 275-1200, which would be a great bonus as well.
Thanks in advance
JPT.

I have heard of a lot of people on various carriers including Boost being able to call customer service and have them change the caller id name listed for your number. Call them up and see.
Being able to choose a custom phone number is probably going to be out of the question. Even for the major telco carriers, selecting your own specific number usually is accustomed by a hefty fee (usually monthly as well). I have yet to see any wireless carriers who would even consider such a thing.
One idea you could possibly entertain is looking for a good, reliable VoIP provider who will do both for you and work with you as a businsess customer. Then set up an asterisk/PBX system with that line as a trunk and the wireless number as a 'followme' number or client device.
Thanks for the input. I was able to get the CNAM set up, not to see if it goes thru. The rep said it say take 24 hrs. I was able to choose the prefix & the last 4 digits assigned were 7085, which is easy to remember.
Thanks again
JPT

Same here called them up and asked could I have a custom caller id name and they had it done in like 2 days...Originally Posted by 856media
I just sent them a email...since I wasn't too worried about the CNAM yet...and they took care of it within a day.
The CNAM is working correctly, thanks Boost.
I would also like to thank Boost customer service for the custom CNAM. You guys rock!
Heynow!
I called and they told me it wasn't possible because it was prepay. I'll have to try asking them to change the CNAM field to my name.
Called today and the rep set it for me, he said they don't normally enable the name for privacy reasons.Originally Posted by kb7oeb

*67 will not work if the person landline phone has anonymous call rejection. The call will not go through, it will ask to to unblock your caller by pressing *82 or 1182 from rotary phone.Originally Posted by surf oahu

Thanks,
I guess it depends on the rep. They activated it for me with no problem...
It all depends on who you talk to in customer service. But its not just boost its every company these days. Not all of them know that something is actually available. So just call back and keep asking different reps.
