Instructions to Downgrade baseband 2.30.03 to 2.28.00

iphone 3.0 coming. great.
now we'll have to wait even longer until that gets hacked by dev team.
don't think theres any chance in hell that they'll ever work on a fix for the 2.30 baseband now. sucks.

I have tried this on my 2.2.1 baseband 3g, but it doesn't work. Of course, I have not restored to 2.2 as the first step requires, because I don't even know if its possible. HOWEVER bbupdaterextreme is used for UPGRADING the baseband, as a google search will reveal (the thing has a wiki).
I have never heard of a succesfull DOWNGRADE with bbupdaterextreme, but, now that I am stuck with 2.2.1 baseband, for reasons I do not need to reveal, I will try and report back, for the sake of the iphone community.
The process of acsually running that baseband supposed DOWNGRADE acesually appeared to work in terminal due to all of the writing hexes, commands it gives the phone and all of that, it kept on saying ok at the end of whatever command it sent, but in the end, I personally believe it didn't do A THING!!!!!!!!!!!
