I know i posted this in another forum...but i had to try
Hi I just bought a Cal-Comp A100 Cricket phone...fits my budget
Im trying to find USB drivers for XP, or Vista 32, or 64bit, I have all 3 platforms...so perhaps i can upload them myself...
Also....Im trying to upload Ringtones though the web to my phone, i cant seem to find a site that will allow me to do that to a Cricket phone...I used to use.... http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/index.php, with my old Sprint phone..
and i cant seem to find an uploader for this phone service
Well I'm looking for the drivers myself but as for the ringtones, I believe you can download them from www.mymp3tone.com if you have net on your phone. I haven't tried that as of yet. Also someone on yahoo answers seems to believe that http://www.newringtones.org works well. I went as far as checking the frontpage of that site and it seems Cricket is a selectable carrier for ringtone download. My firewall wouldn't allow me to access the site without blocking the whole thing. I use a good rule of thumb, if it blocks it, I'm not using it lol.
Hope that was helpful. I'll post a link for the drivers if and when I find them.
Yes, drivers would be nice. Vista detected it as a Qualcomm, but I read on their web site they sold their phone division to Kiosera last year. Their web site was not helpful either. The label on the back does say Cal-comp, but I could find nothing on their web site about this phone. Any one have anything to add?
The cricket a100 (cal-comp) is also known as the Kyocera S1300 and is sold by metroPCS with the marketing name "Melo" and by Virgin mobile with the marketing name "JAX." The shell colors are different for each but the phone is the same. Kyocera does not provide drivers for this model and says it is not designed with PC connectivity capabilities, regardless of it's microUSB power connector. I am just getting around to testing whether or not the connectivity exists regardless of design.
I recently obtained the drivers from Qualcomm, unfortunately i cant upload the file. If anyone is still interested send me you email address and i'll be more than happy to shoot it to you.
Is this compatible with Vista by chance? it shows me qualcomm as a new device i run the EXE, nothing seems to happen. any ideas? should it be doing smething noticable?
It only works with XP and it still does not charge the phone. You have to have your own software to access the phone book and all. I haven't tried anything yet, because I'm not sure what will work with it.
