I've had several of the Invisible Shield on different devices. I really like them. IMO they are a pain to put on but once you get them on nicely they are great.
I don't have any experience with that other brand. Invisible Shield and Best Skins Ever seem to be the two top choices for this type of cover.
Looks very similar to each other, but TechSkin is 10 bucks cheaper. Any good/bad experiences with these skins?
Just get the IS, they are more reliable and if something goes wrong they respond for their products all you have to do for the lifetime warranty is pay 3 bucks and they'll send you a whole new one again in case you need it. you can never be wrong with Zagg, take it from me, check my board the accessories thread, so many people prefer the invisible shield and BSE over any other product, altho the BSE is a lot cheaper than the IS and its exactly the same and BSE is known to have really awesome CS, i know this cus they were really nice in sending me 3 entire bodies after i messed up the first one, so either way BSE or IS they're both great!
I have a IS on my ipod classic and a BSE on my iPhone. Both are great covers and are basically identical. I would recommend either of them. They work great.
So MachHead how did it turn out for you after trying both?
I read this thread about a month ago when I was about to get my HTC Touch HD and I was looking for a good skin for it.
After reading and comparing I went for TechSkin. After all it was about $10 less than InvisibleShield and the price was already quite a bit for a skin in my opinion.
I didn't post earlier because I wanted to test it thoroughly before posting so here goes now that I have the feedback.
The TechSkin is amazing and I recommend it to anyone who wants to protect his device with one of the best skins in the market at a "reasonable" price. It has protected my device perfectly until now and has no scratches on it despite of its use. The skin seems completely scratch proof and gets no marks on it. It's not one of those hard ones but its kinda soft and it bonds with the pda perfectly. touchflo control works exactly the same as it used to without the skin.
The only hard part is to get it on in a dust proof environment. In a house it is almost impossible to achieve that environment so you might get a very little particle underneath the skin in the process which is very annoying. If it is obvious you can lift the skin right away but if it is not and it shows after everything has dried out then that will be quite a nuisance since you have to take out the skin and reapply.
That is the only thing you have to take care when you apply the skin. Oh and don't forget as the instructions say spray "the skin" with the fluid they send with it and not the pda. According to Skinomi its watery substance with mild detergent so spaying it directly to the phone or in quantity doesn't sound wise.
I pushed away as many bubbles as I could with the provided skinomi card . Those that I couldn't push away I left them and they disappeared within a few days as it was stated in the manual.
All in all I think these Skinomi TechSkins are amazing. I guess IS is the exactly the same but why pay the extra $10 ?
Are you saying that the Zagg, BSE and the TechSkin are the exact same material (originally used for helicopter blades)? I was under the impression that the Zagg had some sort of light texture to it, and the BSE was totally smooth. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
If you want dust free environment to install theese goto your bathroom turn hot water on and create steam, the steam will pull the dust out of room install while still steamy.
