    Setting Backlight Timeout

I find that the backlight on the TM506 goes out too fast.

Usually phones and PDAs have a setting, where one can set how long after no button presses, before the light goes out.

I've searched for that setting on the TM506, and cannot find it. The only backlight setting I could find, was the brightness setting (with default of 100%).

I searched the manual, and could find no info on this.

Could someone here please tell me--how does one set the backlight timeout?

    Thank you in advance.

The only thing I can think of is editing the display drivers w/ A2 Uploader

    /ifs/setting/display/dispdriver0.dat
    /ifs/setting/display/dispdriver1.dat

edit: maybe not... those can control the backlight brightness level but the phone might need to be patched to change the backlight timeout

Really? I'm amazed there is no way to set that from the phone settings. Every other portable device I've seen has such a setting.

By the way, I have downloaded A2 uploader, but have not used it for anything yet. However, Symantec Antivirus reports that it is a trojan horse, and has quarantined it.

I posted about this this past weekend. Antivirus programs will view A2Uploader as a virus. You'll need to turn off your antivirus program before you can use the uploader program. And, if yours has put it in quarantine, you may need to download it again after you've deactivated the antivirus.
