My Bluespoon seems to repeat more and more the same problem:
I would be in the middle of a conversation using my Bluespoon when I would hear a big "cracking noise" in the Bluespoon. Then, silence. I can retrieve the call in my P800 but in order to use the Bluespoon again, I need to do a hard reset on the Bluespoon and also turn my P800 off and on again.
The battery level of the Bluespoon was fine as I could use the Bluespoon for at least one day after every incident.

Also, I noticed that the hard cover is starting to detach itself...

I had a painful crackling noise with the D-BS today as well. I turned the headset off and back on again but, it was the same. I got home and reset the headset and now its fine. A few days ago after a full charge and after a call of 10 minutes. I had the red light on. I turned the D-BS off and back on again and it lasted the whole day without it blinking red again. I'm using the D-BS with the T610 and not the P800. I got my T610 back today from a hiss fix. Before the fix there was a crackling noise when making a call. Now that the hiss has been fixed the crackling is gone as well.

Thanks for this test ! Hope you got to enjoy Christina as well as talking on the Digital, hehe

This is really extreme testing, and also what Digital is all about,.. good and understandable speaking in noisy enviroments.

Yeah, I believe too that the backstage crew could use these, also because those people usually have to have both their hands free.

We have thought about e.g. Entertainment/music/movie-industry (back-stage, security etc), mainly because they would need extremely good features on their phones/headsets...and they work in special/unique enviroments.

    MARK >
Great that You got the dongle working
Widcomms stuff usually works very good. It must be a living nightmare building software/drivers, with all those different combinations of OS etc.
Some of the Bluetooth-pc-card/dongle companies are very good on updating drivers,..others are not unfortunately.

    --------------TO EVERYONE--------------------------------------------------

    About the cracking noises/faults :

This is a software-thing that do not appear on production-units.

    I will explain it shortly.

There are two modules/chipsets : the BlueCore and the DSP.

When you turn the headset ON or OFF, these two have to power up/down in a certain order to work correctly.

On the Beta-models the "Timer-part" is not adjusted correctly, meaning that Bluecore does not always start before DSP.
This gives faulty data/processor-commands, and the cracking comes from the DSP.
It works as a computer,..when powering this up/opening a program, some files have to follow a certain row/order, if this doesnt happen, you will have faulty pop-ups and the program will "act funny", and will not work properly, until you restart/shut down program.

On production-models of the Digital the Bluecore is always "first", meaning the datas are processed correctly.
Conclusion is : there are no strange behaviour/noises. Everything starts up as it has to. All the right commands are given :-D

    See you all out there

    Best regards

As I told earlier on, we are to recieve better top-covers, so unless there are specific problems with a unit (coming apart, no sound), then I will much rather wait until we have the right materials here.

Within approx 2-3 weeks we will be able to adjust software on the models and implement it, and will also have the rest of the stuff here.

We do have the software-adjustments ready, but still these things take time to implement,..especially on a lot of modules :-D

Kevin, 2 day shipping with DHL is $50 for us non-business customers....However, I sent my "Panther" back for a software upgrade after receiving my Digital and sent it USPS Global Priority for $8 on a Friday and Jan had it on Tuesday...unfortunately,,no insurance is offered on Global shipping by the Post Office and I have lost my first bluespoon sometime ago shipping it this way. This time though, I put it in a large box instead of a blister pack..

    Goodmorning Gentlemen

    Kevin >
OK...It shouldnt take long before we recieve it

Just got a T610 myself friday,..and its working great.

BTW,..it does also work in Normal-profile mode,..it doesnt have to be Handsfree-profile.

My settings on the phone :

    Main-settings >
    Handsfree > Answeringmode > "Normal".
    Handsfree type > "Automatic"

    CONNECTIONS >
Bluetooth > Handsfree > calls > "To handsfree".
Bluetooth > Settings > Visibility > "Show phone".

Some of the "names" I use might not be exactly the same as yours, as mine have Danish language

These settings work,..have used them since Friday with Digital.

And the range is impressive with Digital and T-610,..easily 10 metres+ both indoor and outdoor.
And they dont have to "see" each other

    Best regards

Bengalboy: I believe I read somewhere that the TDK internals are actually enhanced Widcomm Bluetooth internal components. In general, most Bluetooth adapters are merely rebranded and repackaged components from a very short list of OEMs.

Jan: I use the D-Link USB Bluetooth dongle, and I have had no problem using it as a modem or sending files to/from PC, albeit small files (eBooks).

As for the BSD, I am very upset that this bloody P800 has so many Bluetooth problems, because I can't tell where the fault lies when I have a problem. I have had situations where the P800 fails to send the call to the BSD. Then there's the "See no P800, hear no P800" problem.

Most of all, though, there's the issue of callers not discerning between "I'm talking to someone on a Bluetooth headset, and I understand every word they utter" and "I'm attending a performance at Carnegie Hall, and the acoustics approach perfection". Damned picky New Yorkers!

I have had no problems with the BSD volume level - the max level is actually louder than the Panther. To those with volume problems, please note, the volume level on the P800 impacts on the volume level in the BSD. I have found that every time I make or receive a call on the P800, with BSD or without, the volume on the P800 resets to about the medium setting for the call, and I have to use the jog dial to set it to maximum on every call.

This is on R1D, so this might have been fixed to retain the volume level in some later firmware.

    Remote Volume Control

Hey, I learned something new today playing around with my DBS and P800.

I can only assume that most of you are aware that when you press the volume buttons on your DBS (during a call of course ) you can actually see the volume indicator on the P800 move along with your adjustments… very cool.

When in Applications click on the speaker icon (on the bottom) and bring up the Sounds window with the Multimedia Volume indicator.

So it was reasonable I thought that the reverse would work also. That I’d be able to adjust the volume of the DBS by just moving the Mulitimedia indicator on the P800’s volume respectively… but that didn’t work! Humm

That just didn’t make sense to me sooo I played around a little more and found that there is a simple sequence needed first and it will then work!
All you have to do is press one of the DBS buttons first (this initiates the volume command) and then it will allow you to control the volume of the DBS via the P800.

Now this is veerrrry cool to be able to increase or decrease the volume of the DBS (VERY :wowwow: ) quickly from max to min with the stroke of a stylus (PimP'In Stick for some of you ) or jog dial (if you prefer).

    Enjoy

Hehe,..thats cool :-D Nice thing to be able to adjust it from there.
I believe that when headset is turned on, then "commands" will be given from headset to phone,..meaning adjusting volume, will start at the headset...and proceed to phone.

Luckily a lot of the dongles/cards work quite well,..and yes, Widcomm is a big part of Bluetooth,..doing great.
Its not only Bluespoon that has problems with P800,..so I do hope that SE is looking into it.
And they've done great with the T-610,..really good phone. I havent lost one call yet on this,..failure-rate is very low,..and sound is extremely good in the phone too.
I had a very hard time hearing anything in the P800.

I hope that "P900" or whatever its name will be, will sport a stronger BT and phone-part,..then I would consider using it.

Sent one of my Digital's to a friend at Sony/Ericsson to play with. While at a meeting last week, apparantly the CEO of Sony/Ericsson saw it and became quite interested in it and the company......Every businessman's dream....create a product and sell it to a huge corporation for millions and a "golden parachute"....

What's the old story about the butterfly flapping it's wings in China and starting a earthquake somewhere else???

Mark, maybe your friend will try it with a P800 as well as a T610, see the difference3, and send the info over to their tech people to finally update that Bluetooth firmware in the P800... (hint hint).
