Is there a Magic Jack App?
ok this is for people that have a Iphone 3G and a MagicJack USB device for unlimited calling in the USA.
Basically you get the info from your magicjack using your PC. Input the Magicjack info on your iphone 3G and now you have a cell phone that you can make unlimited long distance calls from your iphone in north america.
You would in turn need a data plan on your iphone otherwise you could only do it while in a wifi area.
Is there a Magic Jack App?
No magicjack app you would use "Siphon"
Application on the apple iphone
Basically what I got is a apple 3g iphone with unlimited incoming calls and I use siphon to make all out going calls. Best phone I've ever had. I just lowered my incoming to $25 a month. Sweet!!
1) You are violating magicjacks TOS
2) Because the iPhone doesn't do multitasking, once the siphon app exits you can't receive calls anymore. So I don't think it's a substitute.
Amen, then again we are in a phone forum that more or less violate some TOS here and there for every provider and phone carrier...Originally Posted by mikesm
But that's the thing. I don't want people to call me on the magicjack number. They call me on my cell number. I use the magicjack to make outgoing calls.Originally Posted by mikesm
How exactly did you get an unlimited incoming voice plan for your 3G?

So F*** Apple and iRape your phone that you PAID for...
I cancelled my contract with AT&T and use Google Voice with Gizmo for free incoming and outgoing. I use Siphon and backgrounder as my softphone. Yes, it only works in wifi, but I live in nyc. Oh yeah, free sms too.
I use Skype to make unlimited outbound calls. It works over 3G in the 3.0 beta. The cost is only $7.95 for 3 months...
You're right, that makes sense.Originally Posted by XFFThat's what I plan to do eventually, once GV gets out of beta (or I buy a GC/GV number via eBay).Originally Posted by tomknyu
Unlimited calling (using given WiFi), SMS (add in GV forwarding of SMS, I already get unlimited SMS on my $1/day T-Mo plan), and data for basically $30/month. Sweet deal.
My parents have "MagicJack" and it's a piece of garbage. Use Skype or GoogleVoice to do VoIP on iPhone.
Skype or Googlevoice are both good but the magicjack works great on the iphone.
