Heh~~~ a crappy quadband GSM Moto PEBL and a Docomo F-01A. They can both go for a swim but the F-01A would wanna come back out to dry off.

    It's all good (^_^)

    Angry

Recently got a NEC N-02A, so far only figured how to dial a number or answer a call. Next challenge is sending SMS, can receive but can't send - tells me i-mode is not subscribed. Tried to change SMS center number, gives me an error message Invalid func for this UIM. What is i-mode and what is UIM? How can I get the SMS stuff to work with T-Mobile in the US? Any help would be much appreciated before I take a sledgehammer to the thing. Thanks.

UIM is the Docomo sim card. I-Mode is I guess a protocol that is used by Docomo for internet browsing and it faster than WAP.

Did you have the phone set to GSM and not in 3G???

Usually if you set the SMS Centre number it will ask you if the number is something like "unknown" or "international" and you'd have to select international for it to work

To change the service center, I think you have to use the menu search function to search for "Service" or "SMS" to be able to change it.

he probably composed message judging from the i-mode message. SMS should not need i-mode to send.

    Thumbs up

Thanks for the responses. Setting the phone to GSM and composing SMS rather than Message works indeed. Just goes to show how far the US is behind Japan when it comes to technology (reminds me of my trip to Japan when I couldn't figure out how to flush the toilet...) Not that I was planning to use all those features that come with the phone, just wanted to have a stylish fashion accessory rather than another Blackberry or i-Phone or a brick-sized World War II walkie-talkie that dominate the US mobile phone market...

I just bought a n-02a, and I have a few things that I cant seem to work out...

    1) How do you reject a call? I usually just press the "pwr hld" button but Im not sure if thats the right way to do it..

    2) I cant seem to find my files on microSD. when I connect it to my computer via microSD mode, theres nothing on the disk. So do I have to make my own folders? (btw I've already formatted the microSD according to the instructions on the first page)

    3) lastly, is there a way to turn on speaker phone while you're on a call?

I'll probably have more questions after I play around with it a bit more XD

    Hail Cheburashka!

I have enlisted two Japanese interns at my workplace to get the N-02A reveal its features and I discovered Cheburashka - the Soviet cartoon made in 1972 that I used to watch when I was little and long forgot about until I got the N-02A. Here's a link to the Japanese site http://www.cheb-project.com/ and this one is the link to the cartoon trailer in Japanese http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEzgP...eature=related

Is there any ways I can trasfer all of the UIM/SIM card contacts into the phonebook instead of having to trasfer them one by one?

And if I can do the above, how would I change the phonebook so that I can only view the contacts in the phone?

Final one would be how would I transfer all of the phone contacts to the UIM/SIM.

I've spent a while on this and I'm stumped, so any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks
