Wouldn't this hurt the Helio side of VM? It makes little sense that VM is now going to be offering $49.99/mo plan w/o a contract, yet $100 for unlimited everything with Helio. Yes helio phones have data, but if unlimited no-contract monthly plans will be $49.99, shouldn't this at least drop all the helio plan prices? Virgin should have used this upcoming relaunch to really merge the everything else and I think they would have had a real winner. Pay a bit more for better phones and have unlimited talk+text for $50/mo, VM would have a winner. Now it only seems to widen the gap between their services because of the vast difference in unlimited pricing. While helio should be higher for unlimited everything because of the data use, by another $50 and require a contact? I think that's creating too much space between the services.
Not only that, but VM could use a total refresh including a sleeker site design.
I stand corrected, and now very excited. Moves like this are what's going to put VM back in the game, and I applaud the VM corporate for actually doing stuff to help their company. I won't be switching to a higher plan right now, but I could definitely see myself on the unlimited talk in the future for such a cheap price.
Why would you choose Boost if you don't mind me asking?
Because the $49.99 is for voice only. With Boost Unlimited (IDEN) everything is included voice+web+messaging with no tax for $50. With VM I would have to pay additional for web and messaging. Even with the most expensive CDMA plan for Boost Unlimited, unlimited (voice+web+messaging+extended calling area) for about $75 which includes $5 extended calling area is a much better deal than VM.
I agree, they need to match Boosy Unlimited (all features ) to be sucessful . I guess they don't want to give it all up so fast and are just trying this first .

Actually, you can score the Boost CDMA unlimited everything for the same $50 price tag as the iDen if you request it via customer service...so yeah, I agree with you that Boost is the better deal...especially when the new slider and qwerty phones come out.
