This may seem a dumb question, but never ordered a phone via calling in an order or through verizon online. What do I do to get it operational once it arrives? And, how does this affect the rep in store if you've been dealing with one? Do they get any kind of commission if I buy in store? Any better deal any of the places? Such as, would I get the 149.00 price with 70.00 rebate in store? And, at all places I can order would I be able to use my 100.00 credit at the same time along with the 70.00 rebate? I want to get this phone and the env3 for my daughter at the same time. Also, is there always an activation fee, and for each phone on an order, or just one fee of 35.00 for both phones? Last time the in store rep waved my activation fee. Anyway, I'm just not sure the best way to go. It seems I could get the phones sooner by ordering but I want to the get easiest way and best possible deal, of course! Btw, I also am supposedly a recent vip member but I'm not sure what that will do for me in regards to buying. Will I get an additional 50.00 off besides my 100.00 credit? I would appreciate it if anyone can help with answers!!

when the brand new phone comes with fedex, the box containing the phone will be there, and loads of paperwork. there's going to be bright yellow sheet with big letters saying something like "ATTENTION NEW CUSTOMER, HERE ARE YOUR INSTRUCTIONS TO ACTIVATING YOUR NEW PHONE" and you just follow the instructions. real simple

Depends on what deals they are having. Sometimes purchasing in store is cheaper and sometimes purchasing online is. Usually though from what I've seen it's been cheaper online because the rebate is instant, where as in store it has to be mailed in.

From what I can tell you can't. I checked through the site and there is no way of ordering this phone from what I can tell. Why would they put a phone up to preorder online when they haven't even officially released press shots or anything?

Sorry for the confusion. I did not mean that I was on the web page where all of the phones are listed and trying to order it that way. I was talking to a Verizon representative through the online Chat Service. The phone definitely is not available on the web page, but I was hoping to sneak into a representative to get an order going that way, but no such luck.

Here's a bit of the transcript, hahaha.....darn typos really got me excited too!! But why would the rep say it's a great phone and then not have it in stock oh well. Guess waiting another 2-3 weeks isn't going to kill me

Me: yes if you could please give me an estimate on pricing that would be great!

Me: I was told there was a newer version of the 1000 out that was referred to as the "EnV Touch"

Me: Oh okay, you had said you do have a phone, so perhaps it was a typo

Could be, or could be like any other telemarketer where they have a script of what to say and not say.

i just called Verizon and ordered the enV Touch! I called 611, 4, 4, told them I would like to upgrade my phone. The CSR, Keith, said sure no problem what would you like? I told him the env touch and he said ok, hold on. Came back 2 min later and said it just became available and placed the order for me. 2 year price was 219 minus 50 rebate. It should ship tomorrow then be here Wednesday! Ill keep you all posted once I find more information out.

AHH exciting. I have a few questions:

1. What are the differences between this UI and the Versa's? Are there any colors or different themes?

2. How does the threaded texts work? Could you show a picture?

3. Is the touchscreen RESPONSIVE? more responsive than the dare/voyager or similar to iPhone?

4. Are there personalization options like fonts and different menu layouts?

5. Is there any other keyboard that can be used on the outside of the phone instead of T9/Abc? aka virtual qwerty, SureType, etc.

6. Is there multitasking? How does it work?

That's because they follow a script. If you compare all the different companies chat reps conversations, usually the format is the same. It wouldn't surprise me if they all use similar scripts.

Ah ok! Makes more sense now. Well here's another interesting thing, I actually did find the enV Touch listed on the site. Search vx11000 in the search box at the top of the vzw website, click the first link they provide. Then in the drop down box on the page and scroll down and you'll see "vx11000" listed. Selecting it just loads the same page. But seeing as that it is listed somewhere on the site is good indication that it's coming out soon.

Ughhh. I don't know you so I am not making assumptions about your reading comprehension, but reread my post...

I have called Verizon 2x today, first lady said it is pending shipping, it is 2 day now vs overnight like the guy said he would do. no other info available.

2nd guy said the order went through, payment processed, and if it shipped I would have received an email, but I have not.

I really am doubting I will get the phone anytime this week, I knew it was too good to be true. It's Verizon..

If anything changes, you all will be the first to know..
