    Discounts

Does Verizon only give discounts to employees of big companies? Do they give
discount for being member of groups like AAA, AARP or ADA?

Discounts are based on number of lines (ie, volume), and yes, many employers like to add company lines together with employee lines to up their total number. BTW, in any particular company, one usually needs to contact "purchasing" and not "HR".

Check out each group's own websites for those answers. For example, AARP.

Verizon normally does not give discounts to members of these organizations. However, in addition to discounts to large bsuinesses, they also have discounts to government agencies. Also, other "family" members can be included in the discount, and they don't need to be on a "Family" plan, they can just be included in the account.

Organizations like AAA, AARP and the like DO set up their own cellular discount plan, often with a discount re-seller. AAA was set up with Tracfone with a "emergency-only" phone, and AARP offers a package from Consumer Cellular.

As I understand the way it works, VZW considers both company-paid phones, and those employee-paid phones that sign up for their employer's discount, in determining the % discount for that company. The bigger that total, the bigger the discount percentage. The nice thing about the discounts for employee-paid phones is that it is implemented as a discount on whatever plan you have. You don't have to change anything.

Note that we are talking about employees here, not members of an organization.
