Just to clear up any confusion, the August release is specifically for Verizon Wireless. The 9630 will most likely be out before then for Canadian carriers.

both kevin and CX have said august
if you don't consider that "confirmed"
then you are just in a childish state of denial

Actually, it's called being "realistic." If the release date has not been confirmed by Verizon or RIM, then it is not confirmed at all.

When I hear from Verizon, then it'll be confirmed.

    truth, accuracy, validity

Due to previous track record, CX and Kevin have proven those three traits.

The other poster is right. It is not "confirmed" until Verizon gives a release date. Just because another source has been accurate in the past, doesn't make them a "confirmed" source. This phone is not "confirmed" for an August release date.

are we seriously going to bring this "kevin and cx are god so there ways are true" conversation into yet another thread?
I VOTE TO TALK ABOUT THE ACTUAL PHONE. And facts that will help people learn more about it. And quit talking about a possible release date until it is announce officially.

If it ends up being August for VZW hopefully either Telus and/or Bell will get it sooner. That will at least give us something new to look at and discuss.

I don't mind the conversation...it keeps this thread up top where my daughter can stalk it easily and can stop asking me when it's coming out (If you're reading sweetie, I love you!)

I only wish this much "activity" was going on in the "Storm 2" thread! Any conversation/speculation/information makes those waaaaaiting feel like it's closer! (I'm torn between that, the Omnia, and (staying with a "dumbphone") "Voyager 2/VX11000".)

Thank you to those who agreed with me, and thank you to those who are stating that the debate of proving your "sources" is absolutely ridiculous.

Anyway, experiment626, I agree with you completely. If the Niagara does get released on a Canadian carrier sometime within the next few months, I think we can safely assume that it will be arriving on Verizon shortly.
It will also confirm whether or not it will have WiFi, correct? I'm still thinking that it won't, but I guess we can keep hope alive.

(And to beat a dead horse, I said "shortly," not "x amount of days/months" or "in August." Just saying )

Kudos to RIM for changing the name. I was getting tired of seeing people misspell "Niagara".

Haha, yeah I agree, for some reason seeing Niagra just became really annoying!

You always seem to post as if you have access to confidential information, but I can never tell if you truly do or if you just reiterate what people like Kevin say. Do you have access to info, or do you just say the same thing over and over?

Is the 1GB of onboard memory confirmed?

Kevin over at Crackberry in Part II of his Tour Review says that the device will specifically NOT have the 1GB of onboard, but will triple the application memory to 130MB compared to the 30-45MB that the Bold and Storm allot for.

The Storm has 128 MB but the Tour is believed to have carried over the mem from the 8900 which is 256 MB and that's why under file free it is listed as having 128 MB free.

So 128MB for native processes and 128MB for separated application memory totaling 256MB? That sounds great.

Is there 1GB total though? That's a separate question now after you answered my initial one.
