Interesting quote: "Seidenberg also said that he believes Apple will be more willing to work with Verizon in the future on an LTE-equipped version of the iPhone. According to Seidenberg, Apple never considered building a CDMA version of the iPhone due to CDMA's more limited distribution footprint."
Great deal for AT&T, bad for Apple. If they open it up to non-exclusive they could come close to monopolizing the phone industry, just like they did the mp3 player industry. ESPECIALLY if they offer something without a data plan.
"I believed there was a virgin birth, I believed a man lived inside of a whale, and I believed that the Earth was 5,000 years old. But then something very important happened to me -- I graduated sixth grade" - Bill Maher
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

As much as I love Blackberry and dislike the iPhone and Apple... Blackberry really can't blame anyone but themselves. They had the opportunity to steal marketshare with the Storm, and they blew it with a buggy release and poor OS support.
It's also been elsewhere in the news. While it may come to pass, we will have to see what the pricing is, and what kind of data plan is required. My opinion is that it will use the same data plan as any other Verizon smartphone, and the hardware pricing will be competitive with what AT&T is offering.
I read in Wireless Weekly that Apple told At&t that At&t needs Apple alot more then Apple needs At&t. Maybe Verizon is bringing more to the table. I don't think Apple cares who has the phone as long as that check is big. Apple is hurting big time in the stock market so maybe they are looking at a change as a possitive thing that may help their investor's confidence and bring that stock back up.
