i just can't imagine a verizon iphone. it's like trying to imagine a communist US or democratic China.
Hmm, I could actually imagine both, but like a VZW iPhone, I wouldn't want to. It's not that it would be a bad thing, I just don't think i would feel right.
A slice of bread will always land peanut butter side down. If, by chance, you put peanut butter on both sides of the slice, it will float forever.
Why do people come into a thread just to bash on the iphone. If you don't like the iphone, then just stay away. There are plenty of people that would be all over an iphone on VZW, and we don't care if you think it is communist. If VZW had taken the iphone and blocked at&t from it...you would all be super fan boys.
I for one (and not only) can't wait for the inevitable to happen.

Humm...maybe you are just over sensitive. I see discussions, not bashing.
I would more think of it like US and China sharing a single army.
Get It Now and the iPhone App Store would need to merge, and who exactly would run it?
I don't think so. Isn't Get It Now for dumbphones? If that is the case, than VZW will most likely try to have a revenue sharing on the iphone app store things.
I am not over sensitive at all. I just dont get why people refuse to admit that it is a sweet device.
OK, if not oversensitive, how about over-zealous? There some good things the iPhone brings to the table. It also has some significant shortcomings both physically and functionally. When others "refuse to admit it is a sweet device," it's because:
1. It's not a sweet device for their needs.
2. They're tired of zealots overselling the iPhone's virtues.
This thread has been pretty balanced in that regard so far ... except maybe for your posts.
I hope it does come to VZW. If apple truely wants to be a player in the cell phone business, then they need a CDMA version.
With over 2 billion GSM users in the world and only 400 million CDMA users, Apple probably started out with the right technology (GSM) to "be a player" in the industry.
I dont know how much VZW will lock it down...my BB is open, and the GPS even works for BB Maps now.
Luckily for VZW, the iPhone is already locked down. With only 1 bluetooth profile and one (official) way to get software on the phone, the iPhone is a veritable VZW engineer's wet dream for limiting customer flexibility!

It's only too bad that the biggest GSM network in the US is one of the most unstable..
It totally kills the overall smoothness of the iPhone when your phone is constantly jumping back between EDGE and G or 3G (UMTS/HSDPA) and EDGE. XD

No kidding. And the other "major" GSM network is, for most markets, a joke.
