since the next iPhone will use the mini SIM cards, a VZW iPhone will
probably have to use one as well.... perhaps someone can find out if
VZW/Vodaphone has placed orders for a million mini SIM cards?
You got it backwards. The current iPhone uses a mini SIM, the leaked 4th generation iPhone and the iPad use micro SIMs.
I am a little confused. My Verizon phone was able to roam on GSM because they used TDMA. Tell it was shutdown. The phone recognizes it as Analog. If PCS has TDMA, It could be technically be used on GSM.

whichever one is the smallest card.... that's the one they're using in the
new device...
don't blame me.... I've been with Verizon Wireless far too long, I don't
know what SIM cards look like anymore. (only use them when I
travel overseas and use my GSM phone with prepaid SIM cards)
My motto as a VERIZON agent- Treat the customer the way you want to be treated, if you treat them like crap dont complain when they treat you like crap. If I lose a sale I dont lose sleep over it I move on. Some people never buy from my store oh well $10 transfer fee. Some people are mad at the world, doesnt affect me.
Gotta love these analysts... I really think a lot of us on here understand the cellular industry more than some of these "experts." I'd really like to know where he gets his numbers from. Anyone can pull a number out of their hat and say "AT&T will lose xxx customers to a Verizon iPhone."
Check out this quote:

.. or they are 1) matching Verizon (and are actually $25 cheaper than Verizon), and/or 2) Preventing people from paying $200 for the phone and $175 for the ETF and then reselling it. AT&T probably lost a LOT of money to people reselling these phones for $600+.
You'd think that these analysts would do some fact-checking but I think they'd rather just get their name out there w/ an iPhone article...
The "no-name" does make some valid points, but I'm sure you and most of the others in here will just dismiss them as usual..
They are points that have been made time and time again.
I agree with your assessment of the article. He makes some very valid points. I'd love to see an iPhone on VZW, but the more I reflect on recent events, I'm dubious at best.
Then Jobs comes out and says stuff like: 'You won't be disappointed' in response to a customer's email. (CNN article here. )
I suppose we'll find out for sure in just a couple weeks.
Besides the rumor that Verizon would be enabling Simultaneous voice/data, it's not like Apple would remove the feature from GSM phones - we already don't have it in the vast markets that have EDGE only. Oh and the first iPhone came with EDGE when most were becoming 3G. But Apple's always at the forefront of tech
The rest is mindless speculation that everyone shouted the same stuff before, but different "Verizon will want their own apps on the phones!!!!111" and yet here comes the Droid and Droid Incredible & Skype, etc.
